Bring the ring on the honeymoon?

Are you bringing your engagement ring and wedding band on your honeymoon? We are going to Hawaii and I've heard it may be better just to leave the real thing at home and maybe just wear a "fake" set. Thoughts?

My e-ring is insured but it will absolutely stay home and locked up while we honeymoon in Italy.

I actually have a tungsten band just for travel and will leave e-ring and it's band at home.

My cousin just told me to get a simple band for traveling. He said even though they are insured they're not worth losing a finger over. And yea, I agree. We'll be getting a simple let of bands and I'm hoping to have them blessed in Greece and Italy

Unless you're spending a ton of time swimming in the ocean, I don't get people that wear decoy rings and leave the real ones at home. I know people that do this even when they're not traveling...what's the point?

@Jennifer - I agree. Especially to places like Europe -- people who live there wear engagement rings, too. Get your rings insured, obviously, but I can't imagine living my life afraid to wear my ring in totally normal situations. The fear of "losing a finger"?? That seems crazy to me, if you're not afraid of someone cutting off your finger in the US, why would you think Europe would be different?

My ring and I are inseparable. It stays on my hand where it's been for nearly 24 years. I wouldn't ever consider leaving it behind for a vacation. If I was that worried about my ring being stolen, I think I'd reconsider where we were going.

Since I'm having a DW, I don't really have a choice, but I would bring my ring regardless. My ring is insured, so I don't need to worry about anything happening to it.

I left it at home when we've done previous vacations since they were all very active vacations that had us doing things like snorkeling or we were in islands not known to be the safest. Our honeymoon is in London and for that I would take my rings. I would take it to Hawaii assuming you're not going on constant adventures that might make you take off the ring.

No don't wanna lose it. Last vacation I took ... I did bring my ring but locked it in the safe for any beach time and souvenir shopping

We are going to Hawaii as well. I am going to wear both rings, however on the days we are out snorkeling or at the pool (which won't be everyday) I will put my rings in the safe at the hotel.

I am surprised how many people are leaving them at home. I don't wear mine to work (as a nurse) but I can't imagine going on vacation and not wearing it. I do understand Africa. But I'm going to Mexico (a touristy area). We will be snorkeling but I swim and shower with it as is. Hopefully I don't regret it, but I'm wearing mine.

My ering is insured and I will not be bringing it to my honeymoon in Europe. Not worth the risk.

I will likely wear my band but haven't decided yet.

I'm too nervous to wear my engagement ring on the honeymoon, so I'm just gunna wear my wedding band. We have insurance, but I'd rather be safe than sorry

I brought both of mine to Jamaica and had no problems. I left the e-ring in the safe and just wore my band when snorkeling, swimming, etc. E-ring came out at night
