Bring the ring on the honeymoon?

Jocelyn , on May 27, 2017 at 6:36 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 57

Are you bringing your engagement ring and wedding band on your honeymoon? We are going to Hawaii and I've heard it may be better just to leave the real thing at home and maybe just wear a "fake" set. Thoughts?

I brought my wedding band, but left my e-ring with my mom since my parents were dropping us off and picking us up at the port terminal.

We did but we also brought silicone rings to wear when we went to the beach. We basically wore the silicone rings during the day and our real rings in the evening.

I am absolutely bringing both rings! I love them both and they are one of the main things that signifies two people are married. After waiting for so long to wear them as a pair I never want to take them off

Nope I'm going to leave mine at home. I have a fake set that I got for work.

Yep. It's going to be on my finger so no reason it will get lost, stolen, etc.

It depends on where you're going. We're spending two weeks on safari in Kenya, I'll be leaving my rings at home because there is a lot of crime/theft in Nairobi and we'll be very active for the rest of the trip.

FH proposed when we were in Europe and I wore the ring everywhere after that with no worries at all.

I wouldn't think twice about bringing my jewelry anywhere in the US.

I'm planning to wear mine as well. I added it to my homeowners insurance so it should be covered, if it's lost or stolen.

I've worn my ring on 2 vacations since getting engaged. I think it'll be okay.

I'll probably wear my wedding band but not the engagement ring. If I were going to Hawaii I would absolutely wear both. We are going to Thailand and Bali and I'm not sure about the crime there.

My FH and I are going to Bali for our honeymoon. I dont want to take any chances of something happening to them so i will be leaving them at home. We plan to be in the pool/beach a lot so I dont think it would be worn much anyway

Another Bali goer here, and I plan to leave them both at home (or at least my e-ring). I'm not concerned about the safety of wearing it, I'm more concerned about how often I *won't* be wearing it as we'll be in the ocean quite a bit. I'd rather not take the chance, I'm probably leaving at least the e-ring home.

Just my band, a lot of international travel and I just always fear the worst! Especially since a girl I work with wore hers on her honeymoon and she was playing in the ocean and lost it in a wave. Came home devastated. I can't ever forget that story so, band it is!

My fiancé insisted not to bring my ring so we got a replica made by our jeweler. I believe it will be put to good use for many occasions when I don't want to risk losing my ring or even worse getting it stolen!

We're planning on going out of the country for our honeymoon so we're thinking of getting silicone rings instead of taking our rings. We don't want to risk them getting stolen or lost.

Getting the silicon rings are a great idea if you're planning on swimming in the ocean at all on the honeymoon

Barracuda are attracted to the shine of jewelry and locals in Hawaii told me people had got fingers biten off due to wearing their rings!!!

I'm always a rather-safe-than-sorry kinda gal. When my time comes around, I'll probably leave mine at home. It might feel weird but I can deal for a week!
