Bridesmaids in different states

Lauren, on August 15, 2018 at 12:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
I have a maid of honor and two bridesmaids all living in different states. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has gone threw this. How did you get them to get there dresses and it look cohesive. Did you just pick the color of the dress and let them pick what ever style? I am having a rustic country wedding outdoors for the ceramony and indoors for the reception. My wedding is either going to be fall or spring of next year.. advise?

I have 9 bridesmaids in 5 states. Only 1 lives in the same state as me, my fiance's sister who isn't super into wedding planning. I picked Azazie, and picked sky blue, long length, chiffon fabric. They have ~120 dresses between $99-$169 to choose from in any top they want. They are picking their own shoes, jewelry, hair & makeup (but I'm paying for hmu). Our wedding is next July in Colorado, I encouraged them to wear cowboy boots with me but told them it wasn't required.

I only have two BM who live in two states as well. I had them do a rent-the-runway bridesmaid package. I said blush or gold and long and after that they can choose. (I also don't really want them to match anyhow).

I agree with a PP about Azazie. The only thing is is that in order to guarantee dye consistency, the dresses should be placed within 24 hours of each other. I have out of state BMs and I told them I'd be ordering them on a specific date to ensure dyes are the same and that they'd need to have their dress picked out by that date.

I have been out of state for 1 wedding, and 3 of my 4 bridesmaids were out of state when we ordered. They got their dresses from David's Bridal. I had a group message with them to decide if they wanted the same style or different styles same color. And the decided on one dress together. (They all look great in it), but they all ordered it individually, and we didn't have any problems.

Hi Lauren! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring I like your idea of selecting the color and allowing them to choose the style. Just give them a deadline of when to purchase the gowns to ensure everything runs smoothly!

I was the one bridesmaid in a different state a few years ago. The bride chose two style dresses, both in the same color and fabric, that we could choose from. They all went together, but I went separately and David's Bridal had all of her info on file. It was super easy with them, and the dresses cam in pretty quickly, within a few weeks.

You can choose a bridal store in their area for them to try on dresses. As long as the designer has locations at other stores in those stated it shouldn't be so bad. Each girl can try on dresses that they like and send them to you and the girls can see which they like. You could also go the online route like azazie. Large chains like Davids Bridal could be a good option as well.

I have 10 bridesmaids in 5 states. I made a showroom on Azazie of all the long chiffon gowns in the color I wanted and let my girls pick from there. They say to order within 24 hours to ensure the same dye lot but it will be a difference that isn’t noticeable to the naked eye so don’t worry about that if you go that route!

Daughter has 5 BMs in 5 states. They did Azazie and all ordered on the same day. Daughter and ALL BMs are really happy with the process and results. (Four of the five did custom sizing, all dresses arrived exactly 4 weeks after order date, and all fit great!) Daughter ordered swatches in advance to choose the color, and three sample dresses that seemed to fit what she thought she/they wanted. Samples were perfect, she ended up choosing one, so all the girls have the same dress.

Went to David's Bridal so that they could each go to the store near them and just told them the color it needed to be. Since they were coming from the same store we knew the colors would match.

I also did Davids Bridal. I found the dresses that I liked online and my sister (MOH) came into town and we went and she tried them in the color options I liked. I ended up picking the color & a few dresses in that color and my BMs had the option between the 5 different styles to pick what worked/felt best for them. Then they went to the store/ordered online whenever worked for them.

3 bridesmaids 3 states not a single one near me. I am going to David's and picking the color they can pick the dress. I also have 3 very different body types. I think I will ask for a style number or pic to check before they buy it just to be sure it is something I am okay with.
