Absolutely! You should be able to make as many people as you would like in the wedding party.

Any number is appropriate! But don't go by comparative size. Go by who you can't imagine NOT standing by your side.

Our wedding party size didn't have anything to do with our guest size. I had 9 bridesmaids, my husband had 10 groomsmen. We invited 225 guests and had 125 attend total. We had a large wedding party so it was more expensive, but that was basically the only thing we took into account.
