Hi guys. What are your thoughts on a bridesmaid planning to have her birthday party after my wedding. She has said she would leave after the groom and I leave the venue. But it's weird as she invited me but obviously I can't go. I feel a bit offended that she has to have it on the same day. Am I...

@RusticQueenB...seriously there was nothing that screamed Special Snowflake about this post *eyeroll*

@OP personally I'd wonder why she's doing this unless you have OOT guests coming in that she wants to celebrate with so I agree with most pp

You're right, it definitely could be done on a different day.

On your wedding day, you'll be too busy getting married to worry about it too much. I would try to let it be water off a duck's back.

You said yourself that it's after your wedding.

I get the convenience factor for her, but it is weird. I would probably be annoyed, too, but I don't think there's anything you can do about it, especially if she's leaving when the reception is over.

Well, if it is two weeks after her actual birthday I think it's rude to call it a "birthday party" it's really a "celebration of aging"

But yes, I think it's really weird to have it on your wedding day. If the wedding was on her birthday weekend, I could understand. But two weeks later? Ehhh. Do you have mutual out of town friends? Maybe she is trying to catch some guests while they are already here?

It's really not a hill to die on. She will have fulfilled her bridesmaid 'duties' and it would only be 1/2 hour early off of the reception.
