Bridesmaid List of Things To Bring

Lisa Marie, on December 18, 2011 at 12:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hi Ladies! I'm working on a bridesmaid newsletter right now and am trying to come up with a list of things they need to remember to bring to the hotel the night before (we are spending the night at the hotel and then getting ready there in the morning). So far, I have dress, shoes, and jewelry. What else do they need to bring?

I put one BM in charge of the "emergency kit" with aspirin, hairspray, lip balm (if your shoe is catching on your skin, you can rub lip balm onto your foot to prevent blisters), tampons, etc. It's probably a little redundant to have each bridesmaid bring a kit.

I also had a BM make a phone list of the wedding party/parents, etc, and print out a few day-of timelines for the wedding party.

Two of the girls volunteered to be the snack committee - they brought snacks, water, and a little champagne and beer to the getting-ready suite. Having snacks is really, really helpful because you don't always have time to eat at your reception.

Also, I wish I'd had someone bring a crochet hook - my gown had a lot of small buttons down the back and they were REALLY HARD to get buttoned up. It took all five bridesmaids yanking at me and punching me to get me into my gown. The dignity of it all!

I like the idea of making one person responsible for this (and maybe giving her a little gift card to do it).

    Definitely bring snacks

    Antiperspirant

    Kleenex for the ceremony!

YOUR LICENSE if you aren't going to take care of that

@Celia Milton: At my son's wedding, they were so nervous about losing the license that they put it into an envelope with "Marriage License - Do Not Lose!" on the front. NotFroofy got a bit mischievous, and took a whole series of photos with various guests holding the envelope and/or with the envelope posed on wedding details. This was entitled, "'Marriage License - Do Not Lose!' needs a drink, but the bar's not open yet."

I made my own emergency kit, there was no reason all of my girls needed one ... so I just made 1 for all of us ...

I'm planning to bring all of the "emergency" stuff myself since there's really no reason for all of us to have our own emergency kit. I'm just more concerned with making sure they have everything they will need for the day without forgetting anything.
