Bridesmaid gifts after the wedding?

Arielle, on March 16, 2016 at 2:58 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Hi all! I am starting to think about bridesmaid gifts again (unemployment is so boring, what else do I think about except wedding stuff!) and I was wondering what the thoughts are on waiting to give your bridesmaids a thank you gift until after the wedding. I want to get individual pictures with each of my maids, and then have the pictures framed as a gift for them - but should I do this in addition to giving a gift before the wedding? What do you guys think?

I was wondering about this to! I wanted to get my bridemaids something from my honeymoon but I'm not sure if its like rude to not give them their gift on the day of the wedding.

I was actually in a wedding where we didn't get any gift for the wedding - we got a "will you be my bridesmaid" gift but never anything for the actual wedding, and that was the only wedding I was in so I have no other experience with this. Would love to hear what some other brides have done Smiley smile

I gave my BM's a gift tote bag with a bunch of wedding day survival stuff, water, snacks, chap stick, gum, floss sticks, portable instant toothbrush, hand sanitizer. I also got $1 champagne glasses from the dollar store and bought cheap vinyls of everyone's name for drinking the day of. I got them each something personal, but didn't drop a lot. One sister loves candles and another loves those adult coloring books. I think you could easily do something just really simple and sweet and then cute frames from Marshall's/Home Goods with a photo. I got photos printed from mpix.com and sent them to each of the girls through the mail (they live 1200 miles from me).

I was in 2 weddings that sent me the frame and picture after the wedding. I think the one, that was my only gift and in the other, she got us a couple other things. I think you could do it either way.

You could give them the frame as a gift before the wedding, with a thank you and an "IOU a picture' message where the picture goes... and then send them the picture after?
