I really wanted to put together a cute gift bag for my bridesmaids to give to them the morning of the wedding...you see all these pictures of bridesmaids all wearing silk robes or matching jewelry sets that are specifically made for this occasion. But, I wasn’t expecting the prices to be SO high. I have 10 bridesmaids, so paying $25 for a silk robe was not going to do.
After endless hours of research, I’ve found that it IS doable to put together a super cute gift bag for your girls, and it can be done on a budget. Below, I’ve listed what ended up in my bags, where I found it at, and the price!
ROBES...the clear winner was EBay! I found these super cute satin robes for $6.99, free shipping. They have lots of options for floral pattern robes and more standard ones as well.
SLIPPERS....ROMWE! No prices came close and I didn’t think any others were quite as cute either. They have several different styles and colors and come in small, medium, and large!
EARRINGS/JEWELRY.....by far...KOHLS! Especially if you have a Kohl’s card and receive Kohl’s coupons. I checked RetailMeNot before I put my order through and saved an additional 20% on my order. Most of their jewelry is BOGO 50% off with prices that can’t be beat. I will give credit to Overstock...they had a lot of great options as well for very affordable prices!
PERFUME WIPES......who even knew these existed? I had added the mini sample bottles to my cart, but was second guessing for fear of looking like I was regifting my free samples from Sephora. I stumbled upon these on Amazon. They are perfume wipes from designer brands, like Marc Jacobs “Daisy”.
SALLY HANSEN INSTA DRI NAIL POLISH....I know that it is very cliche to go to the nail salon with all of your girls right before the big day and get a mani/pedi. But, trying to be cost-conscious -whether I would pay for the nail day or everyone would pay individually- it all really adds up. It is especially hard to organize a spa day for a wedding like ours, where everyone is traveling from out of town to attend. I decided that only myself, my MOH, and my flower-girl would hit the salon to get a mani/pedi before the big day. Last time I went to Target, I was searching for a quick-dry nail polish that I could use in the car right before an event. I grabbed this one and LOVED it. They aren’t messing around when they say “insta dri” either. It was completely dry in minutes. While everyone is waiting their turn to get hair or makeup done, they will have ample time to paint a coat of this on their fingers and toes, and they won’t have to worry a bit about smudging it or dry time!
MAKEUP WIPES! What better to finish the night to than an individually wrapped makeup wipe? Your bridesmaids will appreciate you after the wedding when they remember seeing this in their gift bag.
Lastly.... GIFT BAGS/BOXES! In my opinion, no need to overdo it here. Gift boxes can run you anywhere from $5-$10 per box, depending on the box. I went with a simple brown paper gift bag and found some cute tissue paper to match our wedding colors!
OVERALL... after browsing what felt like every retail website there is, there were a few that stood out as having the most potential. If you are looking for websites that have potential options for your bridesmaid gifts that are 1) affordable 2) able to buy multiple at a time 3) cute/trendy styles 4) lots of options, I would highly recommend the following retailers:
1. Kohl’s2. Overstock3. eBay4. Amazon5. ROMWE
happy shopping!
