Hi, I think a bridesmaid should pay for their dress, alterations, hair & make up. I think they should chip in for a bachelorette party/night out, and if needed possibly taking a task from the shower but I do not feel like a bridesmaid should pay for a shower or the venue... everyone has different views though Smiley smile

Nothing. I think it's super rude to essentially charge your friends for the honor of standing up in my wedding. Or charge them to attend a party. One bm offered to throw me a shower so she did. I did not ask anyone to do those things for me, nor should you. You get a shower/bach if someone offers and the person doing the inviting should host.

I know that's not how most people do it, but just because everyone does something doesn't mean it's not rude.

My bridal party will be paying for their own dresses. And if they choose to get their hair/nails/makeup done, they'll pay for those too, but I'm not requiring any of that. They can also wear whatever shoes they want. I'm not having a bachelorette party, as my fiance and I decided everyone is already spending enough on our wedding. So instead we're throwing a backyard party for the two wedding parties to meet each other the day before the wedding. My MOHs will be planning the bridal shower, but my parents will be paying for most of it.

My bridesmaids paid for their dress, travel & hotel, and a portion of the bachelorette party. I let them pick their own shoes & jewelry, and the dresses were between $89-$169 depending which one they bought but I okayed that with them first. I paid for their hair & makeup, some of the bachelorette party, flowers, rehearsal dinner. My mother covered the bridal shower.

I'm not making my MOH/niece pay for anything. My gift to her is taking care of that since she's a new mom. Not sure if i'm having another bridesmaid or not. I asked but i'm not sure it's going to work out

Your bridesmaids should pay for their dress but hair and makeup should be optional. If they want them professionally done they can pay but if not then they do their own. I don't believe I'll be having a bridal shower but it sounds like my bridal party is paying for the bachlorette party but that's also depending on if they come.

I plan to only ask my bridesmaid to pay for their dress, shoes, hair, makeup. I do not plan on having a bridal party and for my family is throwing my bacherlorette party.

Bridesmaids are paying for dress, shoes, and travel. For shoes they are allowed to wear/buy any pair of silver strappy sandals, so half of them already owned the shoes they will be wearing.

I'm paying for everyone to have their hair and makeup professionally done, and I bought their jewelry.

My shower was a potluck-style with lots of people hosting together (although MOH contributed quite a bit of her own money), and I'm not having a bachelorette.

A bridesmaid pays for her dress (the bride having consulted privately with each bridesmaid about her budget). Anything else the bride requires (shoes, makeup, hair, jewelry) the bride pays for.

Parties--shower, etc.--are voluntary. The bridesmaids may give the bride one or more parties if they chose to, but it's not necessary.

A bridesmaid buys the dress and shows up sober for the wedding; she smiles for the pictures. That's all that's required.

My ladies are paying for everything themselves, the only “requirement” I have is that they wear a long maroon dress with nude shoes. I don’t care if it’s long or short sleeved (it’s in August in tx though so if they’re thinking they will choose short or strapless). Some of them love to wear heels and others hate heels so I said whatever nude shoes. We are doing DIY hair/makeup though if I bring someone in for my hair I will offer her services to my ladies at their cost. Jewelry I told them whatever they want.
Overall, I won’t remember what jewelry people wore or their makeup. I’ll remember having some of my best friends standing up with me.

My girls paid for their dresses. They were less than $100 from David's Bridal. They are also paying for their own shoes, but they just need to have gold or rose gold shoes so I think some may already have that in their closet. I'm not requiring hair or makeup, but I was able to get a good deal from my HMUA for those who do want it. I will be buying them jewelry, although they don't have to wear it for the wedding if they don't want. As for bridal shower and bachelorette, I'm not sure who paid for what because I wasn't allowed to know any of the planning details. I don't even know when or what my bachelorette is lol.

My bridal party is paying for their own dresses through Azazie.Com (I think the most expensive dress is $130) and I said I don't care what shoes as long as they're nude. They'll help pay for the bachelorette party but that's it and their nails if they want them done.

I am paying for their hair and makeup and my mother is hosting the shower at her insistence.

My girls paid for their own dresses. They are also paying for their own shoes, if need be. I just said nice black shoes.

My maid and matron of honor- I am paying for their hair and makeup to be done with me in my bridal suite. They are each throwing me a shower and they're planning my bachelorette trip together.

My other bridesmaids are on their own for hair and makeup.

They are buying their dress, jewelry and shoes (shoes and jewelry are whatever they want though, so they can choose to wear something they already have). I am paying for hair/makeup and they are staying with us at the venue, so that eliminates paying for a hotel.

I honestly have no idea about a shower or bachelorette party. I’m not even sure if I am having them.

My MOH is doing my bachelorette party, all my girls are getting their dresses (I choose) with whatever shoe they want (that goes with the color I want) and they can wear whatever accessories they want. Their hair and makeup I'm trying to find a rocking deal for them so they can get their hair and makeup done without paying a fortune (since they aren't forced to get it done but I want it done and cant pay). I'll be gifting them nicely the day of for being such help Smiley heart when I was a bridesmaid at my current bridesmaids wedding, I paid for everything. Nails, dress and shoes. I had jewlery that worked with her discription and I did my own hair and makeup as she wasn't picky, just wanted it up

Traditionally they pay for 1 thing off the list for the wedding and give you a bridal shower and bachelorette party.

For us, we're cut hair and makeup, I pay for little black dresses which avoid the wedding tax, and what bachelorette party or bridal shower.

    They pay for their dress.

If you demand a certain hair/make up, YOU pay. If they want, they pay.

If you demand certain shoes, you pay, otherwise they pay.

As to bachelorette, shower, if they attend they chip I, but who whoever runs should ask them their price levels.

I only had a maid of honor and she didn’t walk. She wore whatever she wanted. I gave her a pair of Toms, which she could wear if she wanted. She threw a shower for me (I didn’t ask) and I bought her a gift, paid for hair/makeup, and bought her flowers.

I didn’t have a bachelorette or bridal shower. (Which I’m fine with, I’m an older bride and did a few things differently.)

My MOH bought her dress (she chose with the color I had asked in mind), shoes (totally her choice- dresses were long so who cares- they were so cute), and flew herself across the country to be here! I offered help and she wouldn’t have it. I paid for her makeup and hair (and she stayed with me and I fed her the whole time she was here of course.) So lucky she could be here!

Our other 2 bridesmaids were our children so of course we covered everything for them.

We are covering it all for the girls and the guys. I am letting them pick there dresses because I could care less as long as its the right color and from the place I chose to get them. We gave them a $140 budget for a dress. If they want one over that they will have to cover it. We will be covering there shoes, hair, makeup, and accessories. But again they are free to pick what they want i gave them a list. I am also covering our Ringbearer and flower girl attire as well. When I talk to my FH he said we should cover it so we are.
