Brides who have chosen a wedding dress with a long train! Advice!

Lisa, on September 20, 2022 at 8:19 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hi everyone, I fell in love with a dress with a very long train. I think it's super beautiful but I do worry about moving and dancing. I plan on taking a bustle but I really like the train so I want to show it off for the most part. Brides who also had a long train, how did it work out for you? And do you have any advice? Tell me your experience, the good, the bad and the ugly!

This is the dress:

The train on my dress is insanely huge and dramatic. We’re talking at least twice as big as yours! I know there is no way I could wrestle with that train all night, so I plan on changing into a different dress after dinner.

You have a beautiful dress!! I had a super long train on my dress too. When dress shopping, I had thought I didn't want a long train at all, but fell in love with the one on my dress. With the train being as long as it was, it was easy to pick it up and drape it over my arm as I walked around. I have absolutely no regrets on my dress, and would 100% buy the same dress all over again if I were to go back and do it all over again. I don't like the way an over bustle looks on me, and the seamstress said she couldn't do an under bustle on my dress, so I ended up getting a second dress to change into right before the reception. Here's what the train on my ceremony dress looked like:

I don’t have quite as long a train and my dress is very simple so it’s easy to bustle it and the last thing I want is to worry about it. It’s not the best picture but my train is bustled at my waist in this picture and I really like the way it sits Brides who have chosen a wedding dress with a long train! Advice! 3

There's an option for a wrist loop. Have you thought about that? I may go with that option. I think it looks pretty and still shows off the dress. Brides who have chosen a wedding dress with a long train! Advice! 4

I tried it but it was pretty heavy. Did it work out for you all night? It looks really elegant!

My wedding is next September so not sure yet. It seems like a good option but will have to see if mine feels heavy.

I got a 10-point bustle done for my dress that essentially makes the dress look like it's just a floor-length dress while still showing the details on the train. The train is cathedral length, so I wouldn't even dream of not bustling it for the reception and dancing. If you haven't bought the dress yet, I'd ask the consultant about what kind of bustle options would be possible. You could also google your dress and add "bustled" in the search terms to see what other people have done that got that dress.

One bride just kept the train out, like at the ceremony. She enjoyed wearing the dress as normal during the reception since this was the only time to wear the dress. I think with the loop, you could use it at times when moving around and then let it down when you are visiting at a table.

Hello my train is long as well with a long veil, but I do have a bustle and a wrist loop to hold it while we do our first dance. My veil I also will be holding up for a bit but I do have a second dress still sure now if I want to change but it's looking like most likely that I am. My other dress is long too but manageable with a long over the shoulder scarf. But it really depends on how heavy that your dress is. So if you have a wrist loop to hold it up or consider changing your dress to less heavy
