Brides-postponed Wedding

Arlene, on April 6, 2020 at 10:11 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
We postponed our April wedding to November 30 days before our wedding date. Fortunately, the only things that we had with our April date were our guest book and koozies. I’m really upset about having to buy these items again bc they’re pricey. Is anyone else in the same situation? What are you doing with your dated items?

I'm handing them out with the old date. 🤷‍♀️ I wouldn't spend more money on the same thing. Plus you can say it's an irony thing and a sign of perseverance

I wouldn’t get new ones. Everyone understands and it’s part of “your story”. Embrace it.

I would leave them as is. Of course, if it's important to you then you can have them redone. But, I think everyone will understand and it'll remind everyone of what you've been through together.

Ugh same boat lol - I got all the stationary printed (ceremony programs, welcome bag itineraries, menu cards, thank yous) literally everything with my old date. The only things I'm changing to include my new date are the things that are easy (chalkboard signs or mirror signs or things that were more DIY) but everything else I'm keeping as is! It's so expensive to change and redo everything and to everyone else it's such a small detail that they'll most likely not even notice. But even though I understand it's a small detail to them but most likely matters to you, everyone else here is right! It's part of your story Smiley smile it's a little nod to your OG date and also getting past this scary time!

Like others, I wouldn't purchase more. Just going to have to roll with the punches for some things. It will be part of your memory.

I also have koozies and some other things printed with the date. We’re still going to use them instead of repurchasing.

The invitations should be correct. No guests notice or care what date is on a date book. Or koozy. No one keeps or discards a koozy because the date is wrong. Lots of people will not take any item with names and dates. Those who do, don't use them for reference, and you could put your date of birth on it and few would even notice. Or care. Only you. So give yourself a break.
