Hello, I'm wearing a formal black dress for my beach wedding. I'd like my groom to wear the lighter colors. Since he's not a tux type, what type of attire would seem appropriate? I can't seem to find any examples with this color reversal for help. Thanks

I would usually say go lighter than this since it’s on the beach, but I think a maroon tux would look excellent with a black dress.

He can wear khaki linen suit and a white button up shirt, that's not as formal.

Light gray suit - or dress pants with a light top
Khaki pants and light top

You just want to make sure he is on the same level of “formal” as you.. even though he’s not a tux person he should still compliment the style with being as formal as you

I’m wearing a black gown and he’s wearing an ivory linen jacket & vest with black linen pants. Still deciding on his shirt color.
