Bride Entrance song PLEASE HELP!!!

Nicole, on September 20, 2011 at 9:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I know it's early but I want to have the easy stuff out of the way early. So I am trying to decide on an entrance song for me and I am having a hard time deciding. So I am taking votes. Please help.... FYI when I pictured myself walking down the aisle to each song I cried during both. I want something that is going to bring tears to everyone's eyes....

I like the eric benet song but I think that would suit more for the reception music. But I really the romeo and juliet song. It's gorgeous and I think it would fit perfectly for the entrance song.

I don't know that the benet song really fits. You don't wanna be loved, you are getting married cause you ARE loved.

I liked the Romeo and Juliet one but I am not sure I'd want any singing. Maybe I am just traditional but I think the song walking down the aisle should just be music, no words.

But it's YOUR day so it's whatever you and FH want. It will be lovely no matter what.

I agree with @Zebra and @Jaclyn about the Romeo and Juliet song over Benet. The only concern I have with the song is that it is a bit long. The video was just short of 5 minutes and when it's all said and done the song is about 4:30. Are you going to cut a little bit or deal with an awkward moment of standing there or an unsettling ending where it doesn't belong? As a music major those would be my concerns, but it's your wedding so you can do whatever you want.

It may sound corny, but I chose "Going to the Chapel" by the Dixie Cups. Very old school but super cute. Smiley smile

If you want a traditional Instrumental song that has been updated to a more contemporary feel, try Jonathan Cain's, "Bridal March". He is the Keyboard Player for the band Journey & has done a masterful job of updating a classic that will be recognizable with it still sounding fresh and unique in it's own way.

I would choose the Romeo and Juliet song over the Benet song. I think it has more of a wedding feel to it than the other. Also, there doesn't have to be an akwardness with the length of the song. All you have to do is fade it out when you get closer to the altar. Just make sure your DJ knows! Smiley smile

I think they are both great songs. One of the biggest things you should consider is where you would be able to cut the songs off. I'm not sure how long your aisle is, but it won't take too long to walk down to the end. I had our DJ do the music for our ceremony so that I knew a professional would cut the music off at just the right time. It worked out GREAT. So if you want a song with the words GO FOR IT!

After listening to both of your songs...

The Romeo & Juliet song doesn't really have a good place to cut off until you get about to the 2 minute mark. That seems too long for a walk down the aisle.

The Benet song has a pretty good spot at about the 1:20 minute mark. So that may be easier to use because it has a more realistic time frame to cut off at.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll come across more songs that you will love as well.

We ended up using Is This Love by Bob Marley for me to walk down to.

I am a huge Disney fan, but I decided against having a "Disney" themed wedding because I couldn't keep it from being super corny.. but I am still walking down the aisle to a Disney song. There is a CD called "Disney Fairy Tale Weddings" and it has beautiful instrumental versions of Disney songs.. the bridal party will be walking to "When you Wish Upon a Star" and I'll be coming out to "A Whole New World"

I cant access youtube from work, so i'm no help in your decision making.

But, i am walking down the aisle to the instrumental (mainly piano) version of Broken Road by Rascal Flats. It's a beautiful song and the lyrics describe us perfectly.

Before you make a decision you should check out the two new pop bride's entrance songs written especially for the bride to walk down the aisle. "Here She Comes" and "When She Walks" are at www.weddingmusiccentral.com. I think you'll be amazed at what a difference it can make when the song was written especially for that moment.

My first song was Completely by Jennifer day. The lyrics are beautiful and it is slow enough to walk too but I dont think it will take me 4 minutes to walk so I switched it to instrumental version of Storybook Love, the theme from Princess Bride. Its just a very pretty musical piece.

Nicole B. I actually wanted to do Bless the Broken Road.. because it does discribe our relationship, I am worried that most of my guest will be scratching thier heads trying to figure out why I am getting married off a country song..

Tara go with JH... I love that song but its my BFF song.
