Bride and Groom Toasting flutes, special cake knife and server- Silly tradition or something special?

I am just wondering how many people are actually getting toasting flutes and a special cake knife and server--is this a silly tradition or something worth doing? What do you think? We are having a romantic/vintage theme wedding, and I was thinking of getting some pretty etched 1920s champange...

We're doing cut crystal wine glasses only. We drink wine but not champagne so I figured we could bring the glasses out for our anniversary dinners at home. I just figured glasses are way more useful then a cake server.

No, we are not buying anything special. We will probably not do a toast because we cannot have glass at the venue (outdoor park) so it would look awkward to toast with a plastic Solo style cup. FH will probably do a "cake shove into face" thing and we are only having a cutting cake and serving cakeballs so we do not need anything special for that either.

I bought a cake cutting knife set on sale from Hobby Lobby for $5! It has crystal handles, and I may tie black satin ribbon around them to spice it up a bit. Toasting flutes would be a nice keepsake that FH and I can use every New Year to celebrate our engagement and every year to celebrate our anniversary. I know those would definitely be used again.

Last Christmas my fh and I got red neck wine glasses that we will use and then I just bought a serving set for $5 on Amazon a few weeks ago. I am most likely going to spray paint the handles to match our colors since they are c Crystal looking ones.
