Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party.. Same day??

FutureMrsVasquez, on January 17, 2014 at 11:14 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

I'm getting married in April and my mom & MOH and I are starting to plan my bridal shower! I'm thinking I want to do the shower around 4-5 in the afternoon then go out for bachelorette party that evening! Anyone else done this?

That's what we did. It worked out really well. We had them both in my hometown (where I don't live anymore and neither does any of my bridesmaids) so we all had to travel. It was nice to only take one weekend of everyone's time to have both.

We had the shower from like 1:00-3:00 and then met up again for dinner around 7:00, then went out to the bars.

If you're a high energy person, I think it sounds great!

I would personally be exhausted after the shower and would just want to spend the night with FH showing him the haul lol.

We're doing shower Friday night (wine and dessert!) and then bachelorette on Saturday. I think same day shouldn't be a huge problem but your girls might be tired if they're throwing the shower.

I'm doing the same thing. Both are in my hometown, (I live 6 hours away). We are having a morning bridal shower and then going on a wine tour for the afternoon. I'm sure I'll be exhausted, but it just worked out best to have everyone only have to travel once.

I was a BM in 2012 and the bride did this because she lived in AZ and the shower/bach party was in her hometown of Cleveland. She did a brunch shower that started at 12, over by 2 then we all napped and met up at 6 for dinner then went to this bar. She was so tired that she made us leave the bar at 10pm. It was really lame now that I think about it.

Well, from what I've been told (for travel planning purposes only...)

My shower is going to be after lunch but before dinner (ah - ok ...)

If there is a Bach party - it would start after the shower is over...

Now, I only know I am having a shower because I need to book a plane ticket and I was told I need to be in MA on Saturday morning and I am free to fly out on the last flight on Sunday

Were gonna have the shower at my house. The furthest anyone lives from me is maybe 45-50 mins. I'd hate to send people back home then come back later that day, that's why I'm thinking to have a late afternoon shower. Yes! Im very high on energy, I believe my friends r also so I think this night just work for me! Lol Thanks for everyone's comments!

Mine will be a shower from 2-5 then the older ladies go home. Then from 7 onward will be the stagette. I prefer it done on the same day. The two hours between will change up the guests and give me a few hours to relax then switch gears.

I think it's a really practical idea. I'm not doing it because I want as many days all about me as possible.

I have no idea my plans, but a really good friend just did that. They had a beautiful formal shower in the afternoon (tea themed) and that night she went out for her bachelorette party!

If you think you can handle it and still have plenty of energy to go out for your bachelorette party later on, go for it! I personally don't think I could do that. I plan to sleep in later on the day of my bachelorette party and I would want to spend time with FH after the bridal shower. My bridal shower date is set but apparently my bachelorette party is a surprise.

That's what I'm planning on doing . I'm in st Louis and my matron of honor is in Chicago, maid of honor is in Texas , and the rest of the bridal party and a lot of my friends live an hour or more away so its the only way for people to b able to attend both . I figured we could do the shower at about 1 at my house and then all of those coming to the bachelorette party can car pool to the hotel for the remaining festivities .my shower is going to b small anyway so I don't think I'll b too tired

My sister's friend did this. We had a shower at our house and then went out for the bachelorette after. My sister also had a bachelorette after one of her showers. I think it can work well and as long as it's planned out smoothly then go for it.
