Bridal shower vs a Wedding shower?

Anikia, on July 5, 2016 at 3:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

What’s the diffference? Is there one?

I’ve understood it that the bridal shower was a little more intimate, like close friends/mother for fun post-wedding stuff like cute bras, etc. Not really houseware items.

Wedding showers to me means that it is coed and we would receive household things, etc for me and my husband to use in our new home. I'm just confused because a couple of people who are invited to my bridal shower have asked what kind of gifts I would like for my home and am I registered anywhere for our place. So I don't know how to respond to people.

I don't think there is one? Typically for a bridal shower, people will want to buy smaller household/registry items. Lingerie is generally associated more with the bachelorette party...

I don't think there is a difference in types of gifts given. Both a wedding and bridal shower would be household items. Usually on a shower invitation the host includes where the couple is registered. Lingerie is either combined with your bachelorette or it is called a "Lingerie Shower." Wedding shower may just be a way proper way of including the groom.

Bridal showers tend to be just the bride but still intended for household stuff.

Some people do gifts of bras and stuff at Bachelorette parties

I associate bridal showers as a women's only shower. I had my MOH (host) call it a wedding shower and invite men and women. Not sure if there's a legitimate difference, that's just what I think of.

I thought bridal shower was with the bride and her female family members and friends while a wedding shower was co-ed?

I got both lingerie and household items at my bridal shower.
