Bridal Shower Thank You's Question

So my bridal shower isn't until 7/14 and we already have a few people who are unable to attend but they sent us gifts to our house, which we are SO grateful for.

I've been trying to look up proper etiquette and I can't find anything that answers my questions directly...

- Should I send them a thank you right away? Or do I wait until after the bridal shower to send a thank you to them when I send it to the attendees?

- In the thank you, I know you typically thank the attendee for attending and how great it was to catch up with them, but what do you write for someone who is unable to attend? I was planning on adding something about how we can't wait to see them at the wedding and that I missed seeing them at the shower but my fiance said that it might make them feel bad for missing the shower?

I got a few gifts like that. I sent the thank you right away and just wrote a short note that thanked them for the gift and how I am excited to celebrate with them at the wedding.

I wrote, "Thank you for your generous gift. I will miss you at the shower but we can't wait to celebrate with you at the wedding." It shows that they are important because you will notice they are missing from the party but that the wedding is what is important.

I’ve been writing something along the lines of
Dear Jane Smith,
thank you so much for sending the bathroom towels. I have already put them up in our apartment, they’re so soft! We will miss seeing you but truly appreciate the gift. Thank you again!

I just had my shower and had people send gifts months in advance I just texted them and let them know that I received it and a quick thank you but they will be getting a formal thank you this week with the rest of them from the actual shower.

I had a few that sent gifts directly to us and were unable to attend. I sent the thank you with the rest of them (I think the earliest gift we got was only 2 weeks before). I also included a little “sorry you couldn’t make it, we are so excited to see you at the wedding” message.
