Bridal shower RSVP?

Jennifer S., on July 31, 2013 at 3:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Soooooo my bridal shower is on the 17th, and so far we have gotten no RSVPs.. Should I be calling people and asking if they are coming?

My shower is this Saturday. My bridesmaid contacted everyone on the guest list about a week and a half before asking if they were coming. If she didn’t do it, I would’ve done it. I would start contacting people around August 7th to confirm if they are coming.

I sent a text to everyone my MOH didn't hear from asking them about it.

Hey, my friends are throwing one on the same day Smiley smile I'm letting them handle that, but it would drive me crazy if people didn't RSVP.

I'm nervous about this too. My shower is Friday, but I'm scared of walking in and only 6 people showed up or something.

I think my MOH called people, but I don't have a final number. No one will tell me.

Yes. For my shower only half the list actually bothered to RSVP. My mom, FMIL & bridesmaids called/emailed/texted everyone that didn't RSVP to see if they were coming. I didn't have to call anyone.

My shower is on the 11th, and my MOH has only received 1 RSVP. The deadline is Aug. 3rd. I doubt anyone else will RSVP, so my MOH is going to call the list.

I've talked to a lot of the people on the invite list, and they all seemed to be excited to go. I don't understand why you wouldn't RSVP.

I'm MOHing. We had an 80% response rate with the returns. Now the the BP are following up with emails, calls, and chats at church. We have three more RSVPs.

What I'm doing is I'm going for worst case scenerio. We already know that we had 8 NOs and 26 YESes. Everyone still outstanding, I'm anticipating is coming so that we have enough food, chairs, and favors, just in case. Whatever is leftover is coming home with me.

This is so annoying and just the start. I had problems with this too. I'm so not looking forward to tracking down people with wedding invitations. The last few stragglers myself and my MOH contacted. We got a response but everyone, except one. That was kind of annoying, I sent her a message and she never replied to me OR called my MOH. I don't get it. Did you have an RSVP date? Definitely start contacting people when that gets close.
