Bridal shower or ?

Jenna, on July 14, 2021 at 3:09 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5
My wedding is November 11 2022 in Jamaica. This is my second marriage and my FH second wedding. My bridesmaid are my 4 daughters and MOH is my bestfriend. My 4 daughters are 19, 16, 15, 13. We own our home already. Should we even do a bridal shower or maybe something totally different. Just wondering what everyone thoughts are

That is completely up to you, it definitely isn't required though!

We're not creating a registry, nor having a shower. It's a 2nd marriage for each of us and we're gonna have enough trouble combining our homes/styles, selling his house, and finding room for his stuff (bye bye 2nd walk-in closet for my clothes). We don't need anything and wont be expecting any gifts.

My fiance and I have been living together for 7 years. I did not want/need a bridal shower. but we decided to just have a small kind of like a co-ed engagement party with just our families and the wedding party. we wanted to give everyone a chance to meet and mingle and get to know each other a little better before the wedding. no gifts. just food, drinks, karaoke, and fun.

I really like that idea. I was thinking along the same thing since we will be living together almost 3

Since a bridal shower is a gift-giving event, its typically thrown by someone else (parent, friend, sibling, whoever). Unless someone offers, I wouldn't plan on having a bridal shower per-say, but I agree with PP that you could definitely host your own engagement celebration or other pre-wedding event without the expectation of gifts.
