Bridal shower or ?

That is completely up to you, it definitely isn't required though!

We're not creating a registry, nor having a shower. It's a 2nd marriage for each of us and we're gonna have enough trouble combining our homes/styles, selling his house, and finding room for his stuff (bye bye 2nd walk-in closet for my clothes). We don't need anything and wont be expecting any gifts.

My fiance and I have been living together for 7 years. I did not want/need a bridal shower. but we decided to just have a small kind of like a co-ed engagement party with just our families and the wedding party. we wanted to give everyone a chance to meet and mingle and get to know each other a little better before the wedding. no gifts. just food, drinks, karaoke, and fun.

Since a bridal shower is a gift-giving event, its typically thrown by someone else (parent, friend, sibling, whoever). Unless someone offers, I wouldn't plan on having a bridal shower per-say, but I agree with PP that you could definitely host your own engagement celebration or other pre-wedding event without the expectation of gifts.
