Bridal Shower After the Wedding

JSmith2U, on October 11, 2015 at 12:26 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Observed on Facebook today: a full out bridal shower for someone that has been married for several years now, including a bride to be sash. They got married at city hall and are now having the ceremony they always wanted. Also observed: a status update from a bride telling her guests to bring cash or gift cards if they were giving her a gift with guests tagged in the status. I need new friends.

You are kidding me?? So they're doing a vow renewal but wanting a wedding shower? Wow. Just wow.

I wish I was kidding but I'm not. The shower was today, plenty of pictures plastered.

I would understand having a shower a few days/weeks after the wedding, since in some cultures it's considered bad luck to do any wedding-related activities before the wedding. But a few years?? Sounds like the couple is strapped for cash and found a "creative" solution. Ick.
