Bridal Shower a year before the wedding??

I think it's a little soon. Usually they're within 4 months of the wedding.

Too soon. I've seen 6 months before and I think there is wiggle room but a year out is too soon in my opinion

I agree with everyone else in that it's too soon. Not to say it will happen, but anything can happen during your engagement that may result in having to push back your date further, cancel the wedding all together, etc. Would be awful to throw a party and have people give you gifts for it to be all for naught.

That's super-early. Mine is 4 months out because that was when worked best for the hosts and I, and even that is considered pretty early.

Try just hanging out together or hold an engagement party this year instead.

I went to one 8 months in advance and although I thought it was early, it was still nice and I didn't think anything badly about it!

Way too soon. You don't need to invite people to your shower who are not invited to the wedding, and it is way too early to make your wedding guest list.

Yeah...too soon. Your tastes or needs in registry items might change. And if you want to go old school etiquette, you shouldn't use any of the gifts until after you're married (because if Lord forbid you don't, you're supposed to send them back). And who wants all those boxes sitting around for a year?

Not me. And everyone you invite to the shower has to be invited to your wedding, so that could get sticky because a lot can change in a year.

Yes that's way too soon. I would say do it no sooner than 3-4 months before.

I wouldn't have it any earlier than 6 months. Even that's pushing it.

You honestly want to have it closer to the wedding (say 3-4 months out) . Not only because its closer to the wedding, and because registry preferences could change, but because it will make you that much more excited for the wedding .

Way too soon. Mine is 2 months before. My cousin's is 4 1/2 months before her wedding and that even seems too early to me.

Too soon. Things come and go, and most people do theirs anywhere from a month to as late as I've seen 4 months. A whole year is way too early. And if you aren't living on your own, where would you put all of that stuff anyway?
