Is what my moh sister describes the speech she wrote for my wedding :/ I flat out told her that my wedding is not a fucken roast so she better start rewriting! lol but she is adamant about making a few crude jokes. Is what my moh sister describes the speech she wrote for my wedding :/ I flat out told her that my wedding is not a fucken roast so she better start rewriting! lol but she is adamant about making a few crude jokes. I'm going to have my brother read then rewrite her speech because she is only fluent in sarcasm and assholeism! Where any of you married ladies roasted on your wedding day? Is this a common practice anywhere?

I've seen this tried. The person giving the speech thinks it's soooo hilarious. Everyone else thinks it's awkward and can't wait for it to be over.

If you aren't comfortable with this type of speech, in your place I would tell her the speech goes or she does.

I would try to start out asking nicely but it sounds like you already did that. Then I would just be super matter of fact.

If she can't give an appropriate speech, she shouldn't give one. You get to decide what is appropriate.

My coworker went to a wedding in England this summer where one person at each table at the reception roasted the couple. She said it was fun but also kind of weird to have at a wedding.

I would not be ok with being roasted at my wedding.
