Bridal Party Gifts, When to Give Them?

Pan, on October 24, 2011 at 4:58 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

So, at what point should you give your BM's your BM gifts? Right before the wedding, at the engagement party, after the wedding, rehearsal dinner? It's my first marriage(lol), so I'm not sure. I'm also planning on FMIL gifts, and would like to know a good time to give her that as well.

It's my first marriage too, lol... Mine's a little different, I'm giving the BMs clutches to carry down the aisle instead of bouquets and that's also their gifts so they'll be getting them while we're getting dress. For the guys, I was thinking of giving them cuflinks, but FH has decided yet, but if we do, it'll also be while they're getting dress.

We will be having a get together with all of them at our apartment right two weeks after the wedding, we'll provide food and drink to thank everyone and if we're giving them anything else, it'll be during that get together.

There's no rule, I don't think you can go wrong, if it's something they have to use at the wedding, definitely give them before. As for me, I'm giving everyone else gifts after the wedding, including the mothers because their gifts are close copies of our wedding album so I have to wait till we get them from our photographers.

IM giving all the gifts, at the rehearsal dinner. I figure everyone in the bridal party plus all the parents will be there.

Thanks for the advice ladies. I wasn't sure if the rehearsal dinner was too soon or too late, but I think I'll give them then if my excitement over my DIY gifts doesn't get to me and make me give them out before then.

We got our BM real pearl necklaces so we are going to give them to them at the bridal shower so that they don't buy any new jewelry. I think it depends on what you are getting them.

I'm knitting them this wrap in blue. Haven't decided if they should wear them for the wedding or not yet.

Reina, it's such a beautiful design! I'm making one for myself later. I have a tight budget so decided that if I can't buy them something great to give them a few things that I put my love into making.

Well as tradition you should give them their gifts on Rehearsal Dinner......But it depend on you when you want to give them their gifts.....If you want them to give before the engagement party you can......I am giving my bridal party their gifts on rehearsal dinner and after my wedding I am planning to give my parent and to my FI parent their gifts with a thank you note.....
