Bridal Party Food on the Wedding Day

Alyssa, on March 19, 2019 at 12:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 45

Did you guys serve your bridal party food during the morning/afternoon while getting ready? If you did, what did you serve them?

I haven't gotten married yet, but the last wedding I was in she had some light foods, cheese and crackers, some cut up veggies and dip. Nothing to heavy. It was enough to keep us going until dinner

I'm ordering trays from Sam's club. A meat and cheese tray and a fruit tray. Something fairly light but that we can munch on. I know some people do Panera/bagels/donuts....but I don't eat carbs and I can't imagine how I'd blow up if i did on that morning. Lol.

I’m planning on feeding them while we get ready/before pics and the ceremony. I know that if I don’t eat I get hangry and light-headed so I think it’s important! Especially if you’re planning on having a few mimosas. Nothing too heavy, probably a sub platter and chips or pretzels.

We have a bridal suite brunch that we added on with our package. It comes with pinwheel sandwiches, some baked goods, fruit, cheese and crackers, trail mix, salad, and some mimosas. We have 6 hours between arrival and the start of the wedding, so we needed some food to munch on for sure!

Yes, please serve them! Haha I've been a bridesmaid twice. One fed us, the other didn't. I literally had NO fun at the one that didn't feed us, and didn't enjoy being her bridesmaid because I was starving & had a huge migraine. I'm serving pastries & bagels with cream cheese or peanut butter and a fruit tray for breakfast, then protein bars, a veggie tray and each girl is getting their own Panera box for lunch.

Oh my gosh, I didn't think of this! I'll have to add this to my checklist.
My wedding won't start until 3 so I'm thinking about maybe taking them all out for a nice brunch. Definitely want something high in protein to keep energy up but still kind of light while avoiding any foods that can cause bloating or upset stomachs.

We are going to be staying together over night at the hotel and they have a free continental breakfast then the DOC we hired also brings coffee, juice, and fruits and vegies.

because we will be getting ready from 8 am (right after breakfast) until 1 (when we start photos) we will also be having Lunch delivered. We are leaning towards Panera but haven't decided

I don't think we will be, since we are only spending a couple hours getting ready. But since it is first thing in the morning, maybe we'll pick up bagels or something... But if you're planning to be there for many hours, I think you definitely should provide a meal.

My mom set out platters from the supermarket in the kitchen so people could get stuff whenever they wanted...

I'm serving my bridesmaids, flower girl, and the moms breakfast from Panera: bagels, pastries, parfaits, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice, water, and mimosas! Costing about $150 for 10 people.

We're getting lunch for the bridesmaids and groomsmen from Costco: croissant sandwiches, wraps, veggies and dip, and water! Costing about $90 for 16 people.

We started getting ready super early so I fed my girls breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I had muffins and a fruit tray from Costco with juice. For lunch I ordered Whole Foods sandwich platters with chips and a vegetable tray. I also had waters, juices, champagne, and beer. One of my biggest pet peeves being in weddings is when the bride only feeds the wedding party minimal snacks instead of a meal and I’m starving until dinner. I know the bride worries about bloating and all that but feed your girls!

We are doing Chickfila catering trays for the girls and I am not sure about for the guys (thankfully my FMIL offered to take care of their food for that day). My FMIL did mention like subs and chips and stuff from jimmy johns or whichever sandwich place your guys prefer. It does not have to be fancy or expensive!

We rented our venue for 2 nights, it has 10 rooms so our entire wedding party are staying there. The venue includes breakfast and a picnic basket lunch for everyone staying there.

If you're requiring them to be there form early on, you should definitely prepare to have at least one meal and some snacks. Maybe some breakfast platters and then veggies & chips for later in the day?

I will definitely be feeding my girls especially because we plan on having a couple cocktails before the ceremony too don’t want anyone getting wasted before photos.
