Bridal Gifts for Mountain Wedding

Kelly, on February 24, 2020 at 3:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

We are having a destination wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado next August 2021. I would like to give our bridal party (bridesmaids, groomsmen and parents) gifts that they can open once they arrive to their hotel or AirBnb in Colorado. I like more practical gifts if possible that are mountain themed or related to the trip. I would like 2-3 items to include in their welcome bag.

So far I have thought of Eye Masks that say the bridesmaids names on them since some of the AirBnbs do not have curtains. Also a possibility of custom water bottles if they all go hiking. Not set on either of those gifts though and looking for both groomsmen and bridesmaids ideas.

Please send all your creative ideas my way!

You can get small switch blades and axes with the groomsmens names engraved for a great price.

I love Breckenridge! So fun. My husband is going there at the end of March for a bachelor party. In our welcome bags, we included jerky sticks from a local Colorado company based out of Steamboat Springs, water bottles from a Colorado company, a welcome pamphlet I designed with suggestions for local things to do & restaurants, a bag of chips from a company out of Boulder, etc. You could do those mini oxygen tanks they sell, fuzzy socks for warmth, hot cocoa mix, hiking socks, sunglasses, a small Colorado sticker, etc.

Pretty sure that kind of item is not allowed through TSA onto an airplane as a carry on item 😅 Whatever it is I’d recommend small and able to clear TSA. My bag is usually packed totally full on a weekend trip so there won’t be much room large or fragile items.

Cozy blankets in your wedding color scheme. If you want to go all out, you could embroider your wedding date/names in one corner. I'm honestly not sure how cold Breckenridge is in the middle of summer, but maybe travel coffee mugs to keep drinks warm, or I like the water bottle idea. If there's a local brewery, distillery, or coffee shop, locally made liquor, wine, beer, coffee or tea would be nice, even if just mini bottles.

Lol. You can have it shipped to the location so it’ll be there when you arrive. I don’t know what else would go with a mountain theme. I’m not really the out doorsy type.

A lot of people that visit end up buying oxygen canisters so that may be a fun thing especially for the first day at 9500’

Thanks! I'm actually thinking of doing exactly that. I'll ship it to my wedding planner and pick it up when I get there.

Is your wedding party flying to the destination? How would they bring it back home with them? What a hassle If they’d have to mail their own gift back to them self (or it gets left in the hotel room)....

Thanks for the concern Rachel. Yes they will be flying. If they can't fit an eye mask in their suitcase home then they have a serious packing issue. I'll tell them just to wear it on the plane with them 😂

I'm not that worried about the issue of getting it to and from. Was simply starting this post on WeddingWire for a positive experience with ideas that I can use as gifts.

LOL how funny. Now I see what you meant by having trouble with TSA Smiley laugh

I like the axes idea but we would only give that here at home not on the destination trip LOL.
