Bridal entrance - music with vocals?

Ramona, on April 19, 2011 at 11:33 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

Okay, so I thought I had found my song for the bridal entrance and I loved it! Sent it to my Dad asking for his opinion and he pointed out that it doesn't really fit! So here I am again looking for music.

I was always thinking of sth without lyrics but all the classical pieces are so overplayed. I love Pachelbels canon - but again it is sooo overplayed.

I also like Shania Twains "from this moment" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-Lp2uC_1lg but is that really suitable for the bridal entrance?

Oh maybe helpful - we will have the ceremony on the beach - so the music can't really need a big hall or church or sth.

I need help!

I am getting married at a country club and I am walking out to "When you Say nothing at all" also a country song. I am not having any classical pieces during my ceremony. IMO it works Smiley smile

Thanks Haley! For the Recessional we were thinking of the beatles "All you need is love" or "I'm a believer" sth fun!

But I wanted to keep it a bit more romantic and serious before the vows, though now as I think of it - maybe I should relax?

You could always do a Vitamin String Quartet version of Shania Twain's From This Moment. That way it's traditional in a sense yet still modern.

I am using Michael Jackson's "The way you make me feel" for the recessional. I honestly think you can use whatever you want, especially since your venue is outdoors. I did the same as you-sweet, simple, classic during the ceremony and something fun for the recessional.

My niece is having her brother's high school music group perform at her wedding. They are an a cappella group that sings for area parties and for business events, etc. They will be singing while she goes down the aisle... not sure which song tho. Her FH is wanting "Rainbow Connection" for one of them - Move over Kermit! lol

Irin997 - that is a great one! Just downloaded it! Definitely makes it into the recall Smiley smile

the first minute for the bridesmaids and after that the bride - so me! Smiley smile

Haley - thanks again, I am just having no clue at all when it comes to weddings and what is considered appropriate these days and such! Sweet simple, classic is exactly what I am looking for and then something lighthearted for the recessional! Smiley smile

I am still undecided, but for a classical piece I always wanted "Air on a G String" by Bach. It has a similar sound to Canon but is not overdone at weddings.

I might do something like Train's Marry Me though.

I used Shania Twain's From this Moment for my last wedding, it is totally appropriate. I am using Tim & Faith's It's your Love as mine.
