Bridal Bouquets..is this style out dated?

tnovak, on June 9, 2014 at 3:26 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 51

I was looking at bouquets and I want the brooch bouquets but I also want the one I carry cascading. I can't find any pictures with ones that have brooches on them and cascading ones seem rare to find too.

Does anyone do cascading bouquets anymore?

Would it look funny if I added brooches to a cascading bouquet? My insperations on these. and i want to combine the two of them for the one I carry.

To be honest, yes they are very outdated. They scream 90s.

ETA: I'm talking about cascading bouquets. Brooch bouquets aren't my thing and I don't understand the appeal, but I don't see them as dated.

I'm doing a cascading bouquet. When I told my florist, she was excited. I think they're making a comeback.

Well, maybe combining the two will give it that new look. I will set a new trend.

My SIL had a beautiful bouquet with flowers that trailed from the bottom. It was a lovely, modern interpretation of the cascading bouquet. I think the trick was that the trailing flowers were fluid/flow-y.

I've seen plenty of cascading bouquets. I was even considering one for a while. I don't know if they are out of style or whatever, but if you want one that is fine.

As for a cascading brooch bouquet, I guess it could work. My only worry is that you won't be able to have brooches in the cascading part because they would be too heavy. I would talk to whoever is making your flowers about this.

I think that would be a lovely mix! I haven't seen a cascading brooch bouquet yet.

Cascading bouquets ARE making a comeback. BUT!!!! I would skip the brooches in them-- the whole appeal of a cascading bouquet is that it is more natural and softer. Adding brooches/unnatural elements kind of defeats the purpose. . .

Who cares? If you like it, DO IT! I always hate the question of things being outdated, whether it be for a wedding or a house. It's your day and you can have whatever flowers your heart desires. On a side note, I love the cascading flowers Smiley smile

The brooches I have gathered so far are very small with pearls and some diamond they really aren't brooches they are rings i picked up at a store called glitter for .50 each. i do have some actual brooches. but the ones i plan to use in my bouquet are actually hat pins that belonged to my mom but I may leave the cascade part alone.

I will be making the bouquet myself and each bm is making their own, as a fun time.

@miss madaline those bouqets are very pretty you posted, and I agree that all brooch one looks way heavy. My idea is a more here and there not everywhere kind of look.

My mom is a florist and she will say they are outdated but they are starting to come back. Personally not my taste but I love when a bride uses real flowers!

I don't think flowers can ever be outdated, and I think you should find flowers that YOU like and not worry about whether or not they are "in style".

I don't think flowers CAN be outdated unless...you used really terrible colors or something. But honestly, flowers are flowers. Some styles may not flow as well with your dress or...with the overall "theme" of your wedding, but all styles of flowers are valid in my eyes.

Show your florist a picture of your dress and/or venue and/or Pinterest board and see what they think. They're the experts.
