But hey! We love breakfast, and everyone we know and love knows we're paying for this ourselves.

It's not going to be a super formal wedding. It will however be very southern.

My question is, who has done this before and how did it go?

Also, thought about doing something like this!

This sounds awful, but to be blunt, I’ll eat anything as long as someone else is paying and I still get to have a drink. I think it sounds fun and quirky! Very memorable!

We're doing a brunch reception but we also didn't want a evening/night wedding, ours is in the morning.

FH and I love breakfast too! lol i would totally do this. we never thought of any other food for our reception. we're just also not big dance club partiers, and our families aren't either, we're all more of mingling/talking/hanging out type. we are going for more of a garden party feel, so brunch time and food was perfect for us. however i dont think there's any problem with this. if you guys love it and the food is good, what is there to complain about? Smiley smile last but not least its your wedding, and you have to eat the food too, so it really boils down to whatever you want is what you should get.

I have seen multiple brunch weddings, but I don't think that I've seen it done for dinner. I've only seen it at morning weddings. I think it's a fun idea! Breakfast is best served as either a buffet or stations (stations are much more fun!!) You can have a pancake station. omelette station, sandwich station, etc. You could also throw in a mimosa station!

Went my friends wedding this past summer where they had a breakfast buffet for dinner. They went on their first date to a diner and they love breakfast!! (Me and my fiancé still go on breakfast dates with them now!) I think it’s cute.

I like this idea but I would make it as "brunchy" as possible meaning, carving stations as well. Make sure it's enough food.

Also, what would you do for cocktail hour?

How did this turn out? What did you end up doing? My fiance and I will be doing breakfast for dinner. We will have plenty of meat options and make it nice. However my parents are not on board. We both grew up having breakfast for dinner on special occassions and loving it and this is our special day and what we want.

WHY NOT!? It’s your day! Whatever makes you happy. It’s your money, spend it how you’d like. People who love you will not make a fuss. I love this idea. It’s fun and unique.
