BR: The wedding ring gender test

JulyBride, on November 19, 2010 at 6:44 PM Posted in Married Life 1 15

Anyone tried this? Those of you who already know the gender, will you try it out to test the accuracy?

This an easy baby gender prediction method to try. Take a pin, needle, or wedding ring and attach it to a thread or strand of hair. Hold the dangling item over mom to be's belly while she is lying down. If the needle or wedding ring swings in a strong circular motion, you will be having a girl. If it moves in a to and fro motion like a pendulum, you will be having a boy.

An alternate version of this baby gender prediction method is to dangle the needle or wedding ring over the expectant mom's wrist instead of belly.

I tried it and it started swinging in a very full circle, and I was being as still as could be!!

I've tried this one several times (on all three of my pregnancies and most of my friends/siblings/in-laws.) it's always been spot on!

I've seen this done several times over, and by several times over I mean the moment a female family member announces her pregnancy lol.

It seems to be a right of passage in my family with a 98% accuracy rate. I don't know if it picks up on the biorhythms of the mother and child or what, but it's freaky as all get out how it works.

My aunt actually does this even BEFORE pregnancy, to tell what your future children will be! She has been right, 100% of the time.

Supposedly I'm having 2 girls Smiley xd

Funny that you mentioned that Analy, I had someone do this to me long, long ago and said I would have a girl. I used my wedding ring this time, and it REALLY swung out in circles. Interesting....

Hopefully I will know one way or another on the 30th! Let's hope baby's legs are wide open for this scan!

My family has done it to me before as well. I have no children. Oddly enough, mine started circling, the stopped for a second, and started swinging back and forth. Apparently, theis means that somewhere down the line, I'm going to have twins-one boy and one girl. This works for me, as I will get all of mine out of the way in one shot. I can believe the theory, considering multiples run in my family and my brother has yet to have any.

You hold it over the wrist and let it go, and watch how it swings. Let it go on until it stops. Then tap it again and see which way it goes. Either it will make the circles or lines, or it will stop. Repeat until it stops making circles or lines.

That's how she did it anyways...it's not really a science though lol.

I did it when I was pregnant and it was right. I had a girl (obviously haha). I tried it about 10 times during a 2 week span and it always worked.

I always heard the 'chain' had to be a certain amount of gold, but like the theory itself, that's an old wives tale =0P

Was correct with my sister though! She had a boy!

My FMIL did this when I was pregnant with my son (before we found out the sex) and it was said I was going to have a boy because it kept going back and forth. Well, i had a little boy. =)

No, I haven't! But I did go to a goodwill in the nicer part of Houston yesterday and got some really nice shirts and a sweater! That made me super happy because now I have enough cute stuff to wear when we go to Vegas. (almost time!!!) I also bought two pairs of little baby overalls, a pair of jeans that snap up the legs, an itty bitty Pooh shirt and an adorable Ralph Polo sweater in 6-9 month size. SQUEE!!!
