Box Wine

We decided to only serve beer and wine at the wedding. I was thinking about getting the majority of the wine in box wine form due to cost. What is your favorite box wine? AND Do you think people would be offended if I only served box wine? I mean.... It is free booze!!!

I used to work at a wedding venue that served Franzia boxed wine in their liquor/wine/beer package. They served it in carafes so it didn't look tacky and nobody even knew that it was boxed wine, and no one ever complained! My favorite boxed wine is black box.

As a guest, I would have no problems with boxed wine. I think it's a great idea.

I would have no issues with boxed wine. My BIL and SIL had boxed wine at their wedding and it went over great! Your guests shouldn't have a problem with it.

Most people who are not schooled in wine have no idea what expensive wine or cheap wine tastes like.....I WILL say that red wine needs to be a better class of wine than white, and I have nothing logical to back that up ;-)

Black box is a million times better than Charles Shaw most wines under $10/bottle. When I lived alone I usually bought boxed wine because it stayed fresh for much longer. And I'll be the first to admit that I am a wine snob.

There are actually a lot more companies putting out quality boxed wines...Trader Joes has a decent selection.

I'd definitely put it in a carafe or something, if you can. Smiley smile

We're doing boxed at our wedding next week...we aren't allowed any glass bottles. Smiley smile

Black box and bota box are fantastic wines! I would highly recommend the old vine zinfindal bota box or the cab sav or merlot black box. The pinot griogio bota box is very good as well.

I am doing beer & wine as well & my mom wanted me to do box wine. I am not really for wine from a box but, I would be willing to try if its free! Also, there is a good wine that trader Joe's has that's called two buck chuck & it tastes pretty good & might be more affordable than box wine. I'm not sure about prices!

I know a lot of people like the Black Box brand. I think I will go with box wine and get black box for at least the reds. I agree with @Celia Milton that reds do taste better if they are higher quality brand. Cheap reds taste like punch, like Frenzia. I have a friend who loves their Chilled Red so I might have one box for her and anyone else who wants to drink that kind but i imagine that everyone will probably opt for a higher quality brand. I have never tried Boda Box but I will have to do a taste test on it.

I love Bota box! The old vine Zinfandel is my favorite. Personally, I didn't like the 2013 Zinfandel. However, the bota box 2014 and 2012 old vine zinfindel were fantastic! I like bota box better than black box personally, and it's comparably priced (sometimes cheaper depending on the sale).

I enjoy boxed wine, and would have no problem drinking it.. Peter Vella is has a nice delicious red boxed wine. Just when i think im out of wine, i cut that freaking box open and squeeze the bladder bag right in my mouth..there are at least 2 more glasses in there!

Does anyone know??? I want to have bottles of wine on the tables for my sons wedding. I want to put a label on it with their names and date. Can I purchase wine in a box and put it in the bottles? If so how long will it stay good for?
