I was just wandering if any of you are or have done a boudoir session. I was having a hard time thinking of what I should get my fiance for the wedding and then I heard about this and I thought it was kind of a neat idea (if done tastefully and kept within a PG13 range) and he would be totally surprised by it because I know he wouldn't think I would do it in a million years. But I am still nervous about it, any suggestions? what to wear?

Boudoirs are great confidence boosters! I am a photographer in Lancaster, PA and have done dozens of boudoirs over the past few months (especially for Valentine's day). I wish I would've gotten them done for my husband as a gift! You don't have to get too crazy with your lingerie. I've done super cute shots with a white t-shirt and underwear! Wear something your special someone loves to see you in or means something to both of you! And, Yes, finding a photographer is a very important part. You want to feel comfortable! And, definitely bring a friend and some wine Smiley smile

While I don't photograph boudoir, I do photograph quite a bit of lingerie, etc. for models and their agencies. A few tips that might help.

Don't overstyle what you're wearing or hair and makeup. Keep it simple. Too many accessories or made-up outfits can very quickly look cheap and poorly done. Don't try to pose too much, just find an attitude and be it; models practice posing to make it look natural so if you try too hard to pose, it looks unnatural.

Just enjoy the session, relax and move like you normally do.

For my wedding my photographer recommended I do a boudoir session for my husband. It was so much fun to do. And the final photos were tasteful and fun.

If you run out of time for a photo session check out my Pin Up Prints. All you need to do is send me a photo of you to get started.

I would like to do this as well but I know my FH would want at least a female photographer taking the pics. I was thinking about doing this for next Valentine's Day.

If I lose the weight I will do it for the wedding if not it will be a 1 year anniversery present I have decided. (I know he thinks I am hot either way but I will always see that tummy or arm fat no matter how smokin I look to him.) I have decided to have one framed and hang it up in our "boudoir" (at least until we have kids) but no idea about the other pics... maybe a whole boudoir scrapbook... lol...

Find a photographer you feel comfortable with, and you will have fun! You can do all kinds of creative things...bring one of his shirts & ties, a team jersey (as someone mentioned), a favorite t-shirt, lingerie, hats, scarves, etc. I keep lots of different throws, scarves, and hats for people to use. I had one bride use her blusher & veil for two different looks...if you want to get an idea how we did it, check out my blog: www.emindeeimagesblog.com It might stir some creative juices if you want to use your veil. Bubbles are great, too. I have a bubble machine, but you can always bring a bottle & blow bubbles with the hand dipper...it'd be really cute! If you have a hobby or play a sport, bring it! (i.e. tennis racket, etc.) your photogrpaher should be able to incorporate it for you! I get to know my clients before session day, and then still spend time chatting, etc. to help them relax before we start. Have a great time!

I'm a professional photographer, and I do boudoir sessions. They are always such a blast! The trick really is to find someone you can be totally comfortable with. My brides always tell me that they feel more comfortable with me because I'm a woman. We just take our time, chat, laugh, and the pictures always turn out amazing.

I did one for my husband and it ws a HUGE hit!!! I used my wedding photographer to do the Boudior session. She had already done our engagement session and I was really comfortable with her, so about 2 months before the wedding I gave her a call and we set it up. She booked a suite at a really nice resort to give me some variety. I brought my bridesmaids with and we ended up turing it into a Boudoir party. It was PERFECT!!! My husbands favorite photos were the ones in his white dress shirt and tie with a black thong. My girls all pitched in and we had a "little black book" made for Bob. My maid of honor delivered it to him before the wedding and from the photos taken when he got it, he LOVED it. He keeps it in his nightstand. I think it is something we will look back at for many years to come. Definitely go for it!!
