Booking Vendors

Did venue about 9 months before.
Did dj and photo booth about 8 months before.
Cake I did maybe four months before

8-10 months before I had everything was booked. DJ, venue, catering, photographer and cake.

I booked my venue, photographer, and DJ about 9-10 months before my original date (we had to postpone due to COVID).

Our venue was booked May 2019 and vendors were all booked by December 2019 for our October 2020 wedding. But that was my personal goal because I didn’t want to fill the entire engagement period with planning.

Venue, officiant, ceremony musicians - 18 months; florist - 14; photographer - 13; hmua - 10; caterer - 9; rentals, baker - 8; Dj - 4

Depends but photographers and venues tend to go fast but bear in mind brides have been postponing left and right due to COVID so I would book as soon as possible on any vendor you can.

Had photographer booked 11 months out. Last month (8 months out), we had our new venue, DJ and caterer booked.


Bakery is usually about 6 months out. We are currently looking into officiant, hair & make up and possibly transportation.

I am also May 2021, and all of my vendors are booked except Hair & Make-Up and Cake. I have been researching HMU over the past couple of weeks, but am finding that all of my top choices are already booked with weddings who postponed from this year.

I planned my entire wedding in 11 weeks and it was a DW. Most of work but I did it.

A year ahead for everyone except videographer and Coordinator.

Venue 19 months ... everything else 12/13 months

8-9 months.

Venue - 11 months out

Photographer - 10 months out

Hair/makeup - 6 months out and working on this now

Catering - 6 months out and working on this now

Officiant - 6 months out and working on this now

Coordinator - 6 months out and working on this now

DJ & Cake - Still need these and working on them next

All of mine were booked 10-12 months before.

We were engaged for 11 months and I booked all of mine within the first 1-2 months of being engaged.

Wedding is August 2021 and we booked the venue in January this year, and then booked all the other major vendors by June.

Our wedding is 15 months away. We already have our venue, photographer, and DJ. We are in the process of securing a florist and baker. We're trying to get all of our important vendors booked since 2021 is filling up with more weddings than usual due to so many 2020 weddings being postponed. We booked our photographer three days after our venue because photography is so important to us, and we started booking as soon as places reopened. (Our appointment at the venue was the week the coordinator came back to work lol)

Photographer/video 5 months

Dj 45- months.

I am getting cake at a bakery for cutting -ordering 2 weeks prior. Makeup I almost booked prior but never had firm prior to shutdown. Hair is my regular person and she’ll make it work either way. Flowers I’m ordering from Sams Club 2 weeks prior.

Venue: 15 months

Officiant: 15 months

Photographer: 14 months

DOC: 14 months

Hair stylist: 13 months

Makeup artist: 12 months

Band: 12 months

Baker: 12 months

Florist: 12 months

Caterer: 11 months

We had all our vendors booked nine months in advance, but venue was booked about 16 months in advance
