We're not getting married on the boat, but we're using a charter boat for our reception for a 3 hour sunset cruise. Crystal Dawn in Manteo, NC. Ours will be very casual. We're having a dj who will play an entrance song for my fiance and I to board the boat, we ordered in bbq, buffet style. After dinner we'll start the party! We're supplying glow sticks for when its dark, and DIY photo booth / guest book using a couple instax minis, a lot of film, photo booth props, and an additional album for guests to add to throughout the night. I'd like to get a sparkler picture at sunset. Our DJ is bringing a party bucket and light up led rods, then we'll have tons of drinks and desserts as well. Nothing traditional for us. Most of the traditional elements will be done prior to boarding the boat. Ceremony, first dance (on beach) cocktail hour, cutting the cake, (at shore house) then a limo for transport.. We're doing everything beforehand so it's captured by our videographer and photographer. We couldn't afford travel fees and xxx amount of hours to have them come with us on the boat.. Your venue is very beautiful! How is your planning so far!?

Omg that’s sounds so beautiful 🥺. The glow sticks sounds a great idea !! Mine is gonna be in the boat from ceremony until done. We’re going to have ceremony under the sunset too. We’re also do the DIY photo booth with instax 😂😂. We’re gonna have unlimited champagne through the entire night. Also, steak and salmon for dinner. For the dessert just wedding cake. The ceremony and first dance gonna be on the deck of the boat, hopefully the first dance gonna be under the sunset since sunset is 8:15 pm in San Diego lol.
I actually kind of confused about florist. Do you guys decor your boat with flowers ? I feel like decor the boat with flower kind of unnecessary since people gonna be enjoy the ocean view instead, but I don’t know I’m still confused. My mom really want to have florist but I’m not really into flowers.

Omg your wedding sounds heavenly! And much smoother 😂 Wooo!!! Instax for the WIN 💁📷, lol. The glow sticks seem fun to us! I've seen people have signs say "let our love glow" and I was like yes!! Imagine the DJ lights with glow sticks after dark! Having your first dance during sunset would be BEAUTIFUL!! I wish we could do that, but having our dance to the duet we hired at the ceremony, then having another with the DJ for the real version of our song, I feel like our guests would be like, again? 🙄
For decor, that's a tough question. I've been wondering the same. We'll have bundles of flowers from our ceremony space. I'd hate to waste them and not use them afterwards, but is anyone going to care? Not at all. Plus we only get 30min to setup before porting out, and we would have to clean them up when its over. Lol typing that out made me realize I will not be using the flowers.... If you're not really a fan, I wouldn't waste the money honestly. You have SUCH a nice boat and the scenery will be gorgeous as is. Florals are so pricey. I'm not a floral person either, so if our package didn't already come with them, I wouldn't of went out of my way to purchase them for our ceremony or reception. Personal choice though! If anything what about scattering some petals for the aisle? Very subtle but something?

How wonderful!! I’m originally from San Diego and had considered that boat as a venue since my then fiancé now husband was still living there at the time we got engaged last year (we’re in Alabama together now and I do miss the West Coast so much!!!!). The Hornblower will be an absolutely beautiful setting and those sunset shots will be spectacular!! Congratulations!!

I choose hornblower because it’s not only they have beautiful venue, but they also provide foods, bar, wedding cake, linen, etc ! So it’s make my life easier 😂.
