I had my gallbladder removed and was back to normal about three days afterwards. The hardest part was sitting and going from sitting to standing but being up and moving was fine. My belly was swollen for a lot longer than expected and I can only imagine that combined with pregnancy and c section, her body may not bounce back like she's expecting. Be sure to choose a dress that will be flatter no matter what shape her belly is in. I also had a lot of issues with the incision right on my bra line, so keeping in mind that she'll have incision there (likely) as well. It was a solid month and a half because I could comfortable wear a bra and shirt that cut right there.

I had emergency gallbladder surgery last summer. I was in the hospital for 3 days because it was completely dead and they knicked my liver while taking it out. She should feel ok 3 weeks after, just make sure her dress isn't too tight.
