BM Bouquets to Double as Centerpieces

Pink Bride, on November 10, 2011 at 2:58 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

What do you think about using your BM's bouquets as table centerpieces? I think I am going to do this in order to save on my floral budget.

Not crazy about the idea; they're bouquets, not centerpieces; they won't be constructed the same way. And really, they're a keepsake for the BM's.....

There is no way I am NOT doing this. I do not want a lot of flowers at the wedding. Although I LOVE flowers, you really do not need a lot to make an impact. Using bouquets can save quite a bit of money and I personally think it's a great idea. You just need to make it work!

We used my bridal bouquet and my bridesmaid bouquets as the head table decoration. We stuck the bouquets in vases. It worked for us.

I wouldn't put them on guest tables because they will have their bouquets until they get seated so once they were seated they just placed theirs in water to keep them alive.

I think its great for the head table but not guset tables. When the night was over the BM took their flowers home with them.

I encourage all of brides to do this, we usually do multiple vases tied together with votives on the bridal party tables or head table. It saves money but also gives the bm's a container w/ water to store the bouquets for a more fresh take-home item.

Sounds good depending on how your venue is set up and how you do the photography (whether you finish everything before the ceremony or after). I wouldn't want everyone walking into an unfinished room.

I have also seen them placed on the cake table.

My DOC would take the BM bouquets after we take our pictures and would place them in the vases during the end of the cocktail hour. No one is permitted to enter the reception hall until after the cocktail hour and when they're asked to enter, so there would be no chance of them coming into an unfinished room. My florist will construct the bouquets so that they can double as both.

I love it on the sweetheart table, but not for guest tables.

On a head table, sweetheart table, or cake table, it can be nice. Guest tables-not so much. what guest wants to sit down to an empty vase for a while before the bridal party actually comes in and puts the flowers in....i feel like it'd be weird for someone to walk in and say oh..sorrry, dont mind me reaching over your heads to finish your centerpiece...even though youve been sitting here for a while already.

What I am doing to save money on my flowers.. We are doing fake flowers for all the girls and mine and the tossing one.. We are only going to have a small vase of about 3 buds(flowers) as our centerpiece surrounded by 4 floating tea candles I am going to order the flowers from the local supermarket and I will only have to end up ordering about 1 1/2 dozen each (give us plenty if we need to throw them away). But you need to find someone who can make them and I got lucky my bridesmaids are helping me with them.

We are going to use mine and the BM bouquets to fill the alcoved that will be above and behind the Top table. The Top table is situated in front of a fire place and has 3 alcoves at the mantle pice level. BMs will go either side and mine will be central.

I think using the bouquets for the top table or cake/pressie tables would be a good idea but i echo what most of the other people have said on here about not likeing it soo much for the guest tables.

@ Miss Michal, I think Keira means a gift/present table. Forgive me if I am wrong! Smiley smile

I think that re-using the bouquets is essential; it is more cost effective, after all. I think using them as decor for the head table, the sweetheart table, the guestbook table, cake table, gift table or to add ambiance to any empty space would work well.
