Blusher or no?

The O-fficial MrsJoseph!, on August 20, 2010 at 10:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27

I've always wanted to wear a blusher. When I think of getting married I've always seen myself with the traditional blusher. But I was just asked this question and had to realize that I don't really know! I mean, I'm 30 y/o and I've been with FS for 5 plus years. Do I really need to cover my face? lol So, as of this moment, I'm not sure anymore...what I visioned in the past or something else.

What type of veil are you wearing and why?

I have the same question I keep asking myself. Some days Im like I want a birdcage viel (cute, chic and shabby). Then the other days Im like whatever you already know what I look like with and without make up, I wake up with you every morning, why do I need to cover my face up...lol

    I'm having a 1 tier veil for tradition sake,but theres a compromise..I don't want the blusher :/

It think it's neat and if you want to then go for it! Nothing says you shouldn't....

I had a blusher veil attached to my one-tier veil. NotFroofy had a two-tier veil, so that she could wear one tier over her face. Then both of us forgot to do it.

Blusher is a veil that goes over your face, as opposed to just behind your head.

So if you had a blusher that means you would have a veil behind your head AND in front???

Blushers are so in fashion right now! Even if you might feel it contrasts an age/familiarity barrier (bah!), it would totally look awesome!!!! =)

I am so torn too. I have tried on a blusher and a birdcage veil and I like both. I think my FH will like the traditional blusher but I feel like a birdcage fits my dress better. I have no idea what to wear but I have time to make a decision my dress isn't even going to be ready until January.

I'm not wearing any veil. It doesn't fit with my modern theme and short dress.

I'm not wearing a veil at all. Mostly because I don't like that they represent, but also because my venue tends to be windy, and I don't want to contend with a veil blowing around.

No veil, no blusher, I'm searching high and low for a nice head band (etsy obsessives, keep an eye out for me!). I think they're beautiful, though! I agree with PP, though, it represents a less progressive time.

I always thought I would wear one. I kept trying on veils with blushers and hated all of them. I finally realized that maybe I am not a blusher bride afetr all.

I'm kinda like Sherri, I think... I've always seen myself with a blusher but I have two veils and both have blushers and I don't like either of them that much. I'm getting to the wire and I don't know what to do.

@Getting exciteid to be a MRS what do veils represent that you dont like?

I am having two veils. One is really long because it is going to be my train (my dress doesn't have one and I really wanted a train) then I have a second shorter on that is going to be over my face. My favorite part of the wedding is when the dad (or whoever is walking you down the isle) pulls the veil over your head and kisses your check.

Not sure if I'll do a veil period...that whole "ta-da" moment that IMHO is sooooo unnecessary. We've been shakin' for almost two yrs now.
