Could you look at fancy bridesmaid dresses you love and order one in black? My future SIL ordered a bridesmaid dress in white and I could never have known!

Start by calling your local bridal shops to see if they have any you can try on. If they don’t, you can try other formal gown shops that aren’t necessarily just for brides. You can order black accessories online as well!

Casablanca, Sottero, Sarah Joseph Couture, Sweet Caroline, Lazaro, and Cocomelody all carry black wedding dresses. There are lots of independent wedding dress makers online (especially on etsy) who can make a custom black wedding dress for you, and the company Anomalie is a popular custom dress making site with tons of great reviews. You can also look at red carpet & special event dresses- there are a lot more selections in these departments.

I have seen some stunning black dresses on Pinterest. Most seem to be custom made or fancy cocktail type dresses.

We have a relative who wore a black ballgown for her wedding gown. It was stunning, but her mother ended up making it based on a $10,000 couture gown the bride found (and couldn't afford...). I agree about looking for black evening and/or event gowns if you don't find what you're looking for when you search for wedding gowns. Good luck!

I would just look for evening gowns that are black. It would be easier to find rather than specifically looking for a wedding dress in black

You could also buy a white dress and colour it up with black fabric dye - keep in mind that it wouldn't work for synthetic materials. You could also use airbrush for those materials (f.e. synthetic tull, organza,...)
