Black Tie Wedding

DO IIIIIIT. And make the groom learn how to tie his bow tie, a clip on is a black tie felony.

We're having a Creative Black Tie wedding. Our invites and the decor We're thinking will tie in perfectly. We're excited to see how it will all come together.

We considered having a black tie wedding. We had most of the components of a black tie wedding (Saturday evening event, fancy ballroom venue, 3 course plated meal, complimentary valet parking, full open bar with premium liquor, live instrumental music for ceremony, live band for reception, etc). In the end though, we called our wedding "formal" and not black tie on our website. We had a lot of guests coming from out of town and we didn't want people to have to rent tuxes or gowns. We also had a lot of friends invited in different financial situations, so we didn't want people to feel pressured to rent a tux or gown. But I've been to dozens of black tie weddings and they're always a blast. If you have the budget for it, then black tie weddings can be amazing!

We are having a ‘Black Tie Preferred’ wedding. If there’s anyone who doesn’t have or doesn’t want a tux/formal gown, then they can just wear formal attire. Honestly though, the majority of the older guests and the ‘younger’ (and I put that in quotes because we are older to begin with) have tuxes/formal dresses already and are looking forward to wearing them!

We are having a black tie preferred wedding. Simply because we do not want to limit the guests attire if they needed to rent or buy anything that wasn’t in their wardrobe.
