It was recommended to me but I feel like that would make me a bit bridezilla"ish" The person mentioned it was a "thing" now in Miami but I couldn't find anything online.

I must admit the photo shown to me was amazing but I don't want to be too pushy. Please help

Kinda of a southwestern vintage feel the venue is an outdoor southwestern chapel on a cliff surrounded by garden. It's mostly desert like plants. My color scheme is trying to compliment the venue. The easiest bm dress color is black with a splash of color. I am planning the bm dress to be knee length.

IF you put black tie, people will expect top-tier everything (top-shelf open bar, 3 course meal, white-glove, hand-passed appetizers). It implies that women must wear long formal dresses, and men will have to wear or rent a tuxedo. If your wedding is not that level of formality then listing black tie is bad idea!

It is your wedding keep that in mind, if you asked people to dress in Black or white I don't think people will get upset. They would want you to be happy on your big day!! As others have said putting "please join in the wedding theme with wearing black/white", is not a bad idea. And if other people don't, then they don't. I think it is best to put the idea out there and leave it up to them to make the decision.

No black tie means parking 3 course plated dinner open bar with top shelf alcohol.

Yes, that's the gist of what I'm understanding. Not a huge deal if they don't but it would be fun. 😊

Its a little odd and over-the-top but this makes me think of sex and the city 2 hahaha, they had a black and white wedding and it honestly looked so cool. Though I think in the movie it was intended to seem over-the-top, so do with that what you will :p

I went to a wedding this past summer that was black and white themed and the invitation instructed us to wear black and white, I had no problem with it. In fact I loved it since all I wear is black anyway lol

That was my main concern in the beginning. The venue is higher end and not on a beach. It's also a historic site. So based on everyone's advice, I will just go with black tie. If someone doesn't adhere to it, it's not a big deal. 😊 In the end I'd like my guests to be as happy as we are to share this special day together.

🤔 I haven't seen that. I'll have to watch it this weekend. Still almost a year out and nothing is set in stone other than the venue and date. Thanks 😊

Haha, if you intend to watch the show or the first movie I wouldn't watch it because it's a huge spoiler to the show hahaha, but if you don't care and just want to see what the wedding looks like, it's literally the first scene of the second movie Smiley tongue It does look super cool but idk how necessary

Keep in mind that having a black tie wedding means you are paying for valet parking, multi-course plated meal, live band (no DJ), white-glove service (whatever guests want they get without question), top shelf open bar all night, just to name a few. While the venue should also match this level of service it is not the determining factor, but rather, your level of hosting. Depending on the number of guests you have this should cost you upwards of $50,000 but easily closer to $100,000. For me, I ended up spending over $300 per person just for the food/beverage.

For my wedding colors this is what I did. I started with black as the base color and I thought I was going to do a long formal black and white bridesmaids. Then realized my wedding in general is way to casual for that. So, I scraped that plan. I decided to keep the black though to save on cost, keep it simple, also my bridesmaids are vastly different body types. The matching thing is important to me. It's the one color that looks great on everyone.

I looked at pictures of my specific venue on google and saw what other people did. Looked at what I liked and hated about what they did. For example, sapphire blue is a great color. I love that color. But it looks terrible with the warm tones of my venue. It's too much of a contrast. Same with white. My dress is a classic ivory A-line type.

I also looked at a professional paint pallette of colors that go with the venue color by Googling southwestern paint colors. Blush, turquoise and other light blues, and certain soft reds, and certain greens look great.

And that's how I did it.

I think for your wedding, it's the same balancing act between too formal and realistic expectations. The white tie $60k wedding vs what I gather you really want per your previous post. I personally went through the exact same process and decided to go a different route.

This! Exactly this!! I love seeing other people with minds of their own. Thank you! But yes, what she said. I personally would not have any issue with this and I think it would be beautiful!
