Birthday on Wedding Day

Ashley, on March 16, 2012 at 11:06 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

Okay, so I have question...

I have a guest, who if she comes, it is her birthday...should we acknowledge this? Like just a hey wanted to give a birthday wish to ____"

Please I need advice, I'm already giving an early bday cake to my little sister bc her 21st birthday is the next day....so I need to know what etiquette is for this?!?!

I don't know about etiquette but I wouldn't be recognizing it at my wedding because that is MY day. Maybe I am selfish.

One of the GMs wife's birthday is the day of my wedding and their both staying at our house, so I'm sure we'll recognize it, but not necessarily at the wedding. Idk, if you feel at all weird about it, then just say happy birthday to her privately.

Thanks Ladies!!! I'm gonna figure it out eventually. (: I like the whole recognizing it, because she is choosing to spend her day with us on our day. (: but I also like the private thing...I'll ask the FH. But I'm thinking shout out, bc she'll laugh about it! (:

I would embarass her by announcing it if it were my friend. It's my day but saying happy birthday isn't a big deal. It's not like you're bringing out a cake with candles and a gift right???

I have seen DJs acknowledge it at reception and had a birthday dance for people who had birthdays in that month. It is totally optional though.

We're getting married on FH sister's birthday, and MY MOM's birthday. We'll be recognizing their birthdays at our reception.

I'd have the DJ do a shout out to both her and your sister and then just play a song for the two of them and call it a day. they will feel special and you can take those minutes to relax and grab a drink!

One of my brothers got married on our g'ma's b'day. She didn't want it mentioned so as not to take away from her g'son's wedding day. But, my brother asked the DJ to wish G'ma a Happy B'day.
