Anyone else having a guest with a birthday at their wedding? Are you doing anything for them? I have a cousin who is in their 50's that is having a birthday. My Mom wants us to sing Happy Birthday to him. I am going to add it to my DJ list but I just wonder what you all think about it? I can't...

My Mom wants us to sing Happy Birthday to him. I am going to add it to my DJ list but I just wonder what you all think about it? I can't imagine he would enjoy this, I know I wouldn't. If he was a child I could understand why we should do this. Just looking for thoughts.

My wedding is 2 days after my father's birthday (we picked this day on purpose) and I plan on surprising him with a birthday cake and singing happy birthday to him.

I would say don't do anything other than wish him happy birthday when you greet him or see him. He sounds like he may not be wanting the extra attention or spotlight and honestly its your wedding, enjoy the day for what it is. Be firm with your mom, she means well but perhaps its not the right place, just my two cents.

I have a guest with a birthday so we got her a gift. Our day of coordinator will place it at her table, so that when she sits down at the reception it will be waiting for her. No singing, no embarassment, just a special gift and note of thanks for spending her day celebrating with us.
