Beyond the centerpieces

Besides the obvious centerpieces on the tables at the reception, what other decor are you having out and about?! I am standing to see everything come together but I feel like I need to decorate the guestbook table, the cake table, etc. any ideas?!

Honestly I'm not doing a thing. My venue was recently renovated and looks amazing. Plus it's by the ocean.

Because mine will be under a tent outside im thinking of making corner flower swags to cover the metal poles, also thinking of making a falling leaf burlap table cloth for the cake table

I used my bouquet and my bridesmaids' bouquets to decorate miscellaneous tables. My florist had vases for them and during cocktail hour my DOC took the bouquets and put them in the vases. I also added little Christmas trees since we had a Christmas wedding. For the cake table my florist added garland around the table to coordinate with the garlands on my reception tables.

Thankfully our venue goes all out in decorations for the holidays. We will only have to decorate our tables and the food area after the ceremony.

We will be having old books, candles and some pretty cool ornate candleholders that we're painting all the same color gold, along with lace table runners and some other odd and ends to pull it all together.

We're putting a few personal items on our altar (the fireplace), small signs on our welcome table with guestbook and card box, the cake table, and a welcome sign/seating chart.

We're also doing runners down the centers of the long tables. We're going to have a very, very starry ceiling, plus a HUGE helium crescent moon balloon for funsies.

I'm painting a welcome sign, i bought a stencil on Amazon. Will put little tea lights all around the yard inside the bags that I dipped the top in watercolor. I am wondering the same thing though, I feel like it needs more. We are having a sweets table. I will have three center vases filled with flowers, a few small candles on the table, then one of my bridesmaids has 88 charger plates, so I will borrow those and maybe have to buy a few more, put a watercolor paper plate I found on Etsy on top of it, print a circle shaped menu to go inside the watercolor plate, and then fold the plastic cutlery into a napkin with a little tag saying something like "What she order? Fish Filet or "I played her close like butter play toast" and put on top or beside the plate.

Also just finished painting a 4-tier cupcake stand - I got it pretty cheap on amazon, and then painted the underneath of the acrylic in various shades, I think it turned out pretty cool looking, will post a photo when it finished drying.

My venue is right on the Hudson River and overlooks both city and natural landscapes.

We'll have centerpieces, the lighting from the venue, and that's it. The view is enough.

I am having some decorations and pictures on my card table and by the bar but that's about it besides tables. I guess you can count my tea set up as decorative but it's also functional.

These are some of the decorations were doing. But were also having an outdoor tented reception and ceremony in a large opened field. So I felt we kinda needed more decor.

I am decorating the long wooden strip that leads up to the reception space with family pics, lanterns with candles and a ballon archway if possible =)

Do you have pictures on how you scattered? I am quite intrigued. I thought about this but keep picturing a heaping pile of random hearts that look out of place.

My mom just kind of just placed them randomly on the tables, not too many of them on each table. Hope this helps!
