Best wedding website?

Alyssa, on March 6, 2019 at 6:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

I have been considering WeddingWire, The Knot, and Zola for my wedding website. I am not sure which to choose. I would like an aesthetically pleasing website, but I am most concerned with the ease of website navigation for others as I will be relying on online rsvps for most guests. It would also be great to able to sync another registry to the site from a retail store.

So what have/will you use for your big day? Pros? Cons?

I'm also using the Knot because of the theme, you can customize the end of your link, put hotel accommodations, your love story, RSVPs, etc. It can also be password protected if you don't want everyone to be able to access is (that was important to me).

As a web designer myself, I prefer Zola. I don’t think I looked into the Knot since I’m not using them for any other piece of my planning, so I mostly compared wedding wire and Zola. If you get your save the dates and invitations through them, they have corresponding websites so that everything is cohesive.

Zola is super user friendly!! I tried using wedding wire and had so many issues and frustrations I finally gave up. I did not try the knot though

I used Appy couple and I love it. I am doing a paperless wedding so I did my invitations from the website. There is also an app on my phone where I can update the website and see all the rsvps. It costs $49 and it was definitely worth it to me

I'm actually using wix.com and just used a wedding template to completely customize my entire site. I'm still fixing it up but I have yet to run into any cons. There's an rsvp page that already came with the template so it was easy to just fix it up the way i wanted and link it to my email to get the notifications. It's the same thing with the registry. There's a page and you can just add whichever places you're already registered and link it up so when they click on it, it'll take them straight there.

Ok, so I set up a custom domain at wedding wire, a I love that you can set your own picture instead of using a theme... But I hated the RSVP part.

So I have my RSVPs at Zola, with a link from wedding wire...

If I had to do it all over I might just do wix.

We are using with joy. So far I really like it. I am able to do it all the site, and the app is nice too.

Zola all he way. I used WW for my first wedding (weren’t many options) and it was and appears to still be buggy.
there wasn’t a theme that matched our less than contemporary theme and pallette but one was close enough. Guests don’t really care about that, they care about functionality. Zola hits all the requirements I had in a website without buggy issues.

I’m using Zola and I love it. Very few guests had trouble navigating the site and those were elderly guests. You can sync the Zola registry or any other place where you’re registered. I preferred the themes on Zola over other sites

Thank you ladies for all of the great feedback! I forgot to add that I made my guest list on Zola, but I’ve been heavily using weddingwire for planning through the vendor search & budget calculator.
I love hearing all the good and not-so-good these websites offer. While I want a pretty website, I don’t care if it matches my color palette exactly. My top priority is that my family and friends to be able to access it easily. 😊

Thanks Samantha! We still haven’t set a date and have a while to get things organized so I’ve been playing around with Zola, WW, and the Knot’s wedding websites today (not published/private). I’m really liking the design I have on WW the most, but loving Zola’s guest tracker.

I’m so glad you haven’t had any issues. Best of luck!
