Best wedding month for California

What part of California? I live in Monterey and September/October are our warmest months with the least amount of fog. I am not familiar enough with Southern California though to say what the best time there is.

Hey Lindelof! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! If you are looking to get married on the coast, I would say anytime between February and May or September to November! That will give you more mild temperatures! If you are looking to go more inland, then I would look into a Summer date since the winters inland can get pretty wet and chilly!

Prices vary depending on the time of year. For example, at wineries in California, the vineyards are typically only in bloom in the summer but harvest season is anytime Aug-Oct. That's why summer is the most expensive time for a vineyard wedding because couples want that lush vineyard look before the grapes are picked and vines pruned.

We scored a deal in Napa by getting married in March--the end of winter season and the lowest rates before spring rates kicked in. No grape vines but the area was so gorgeous, and very few tourists! It rained but that actually enhanced our wedding and our reception was in a wine cave anyway. Just some things to think about: cost, weather, etc.

I think it depends on where in CA. I'm from a town 30 minutes north of downtown San Diego, and it's never "too hot" just because it's right by the water so you always have the coastal breeze. Hottest is like high 70s or 80 degrees. I'd say that's usually July/August.

Yeah depends on where in CA. I'm from Los Angeles and the weather is pretty good year round but does get hot in summer and not that cold in the winter. I wouldn't base everything on the weather. We decided August based on budget and preference.

I live in the inland Empire, our summer is unbearable especially July-September. We are getting married in February, both our ceremony and reception are indoors

Not bad! I went home for Christmas 4 years ago and it was 85 degrees on Christmas Day at the beach (this was hotter than normal). It really just depends, but never colder than 60. A lot of years it gets hotter for a little in December/January.

I am getting married this year in Southern California (about 10 minutes from Downtown). I was looking into Mid November Fall wedding. The days are booked so my option is December 7th 2019 and my venue is outdoors (indoors if emergency comes)….. but I’m OK with that. Probably low 60’s.

I live in the Inland Empire and moved my wedding from February to October. It rained way too much this year dont want to take any chances. October is good because the weather cools off, but it is still nice out. The time hasn't change either so you still can get pictures during golden hour.
It totally depends on where in Cali you are thinking of.

San Diego has mild weather year round. You'll always have the ocean breeze if you are on the water, you'll probably notice it more in the winter. Even in December, I'd say the lowest it gets at night is upper 50s. The hottest months are usually Sep & Oct and the highest it gets is high 70s. I'd say any month you'd be good, but if you want to be outside probably July-October.
