My wedding is in September 2018, some people keep telling me it's to early to start planning everything for the wedding, when is the best time to start planning everything?

We're looking at venues now. Interestingly enough our top 2 spots are saying they don't book until about a year to 15 months out. Which isn't all bad really because it means, if we stay on top of it, we'll be first at securing the dates we want

Start now.. Dates will book up quick. Get a guest list together to see how big if a venue you need and book venue and catering.

Our wedding is still really far away and we already stared planning. When I messaged some vendors they told me to book soon, because the dates are filling up fast. Our wedding is in December so it gets busy. We are booking our venue next month, and already booked photographer, videographer, and DJ. Our photographer and videographer are book half way through 2019 already. It is always better to start earlier. Another good thing is to look at wedding invites, save the date etc. I found out this year that during 4th of July week all of those are 40% off plus free shipping. That is a huge discount Smiley smile we are getting our stationary from Wedding Paper Divas, you get 8 free samples and free shipping.

Definitely not too early to start planning! The next Saturday in June that is truly available at my venue is 6/6/20. I've already put my full deposit down for that day but the venue had let a bride put a partial deposit down some time ago for 6/2/18 because she was booking it so far in advance. She still has not paid the rest of her deposit and she was supposed to have paid it by 6/2/17. She has been informed that she has until 9/1/17 to pay the rest of the deposit or she loses what she paid and I get her day! Part of me doesn't want her to lose her deposit and date, but the other part of me says, you snooze you lose.
