Plus, it gives you plenty of time to budget and plan and save and DIY your heart out.

Start planning as soon as possible! It's never too early. I'm September 2018 also and I have a venue, dj, photographer, (some) decorations, and talked to a florist. We are planning on meeting with food, cake, and make up artist in September. I enjoy having "extra" time bc when I get over whelmed, i don't get worried about taking breaks from it.

Giiiiiiirl get planning! I already came across a few venues w ZERO availability in 2018! The more you get done now the less to worry later. Caterers, photographers even DJs book a year ahead. Happy planning!

Mine is a month before yours and I started booking in March. My venue only had a few dates left and my dj was the same. Start now, like the previous comments stated. I didn't think things would fill up so fast, but its not a game in these bridal streets!

I started doing mine a little more than 10 mos out. I should have started a year out or more. Do what you can now. You won't be sorry.

Mine is September this year and I started planning in June of last year. I would definitely get started. You wouldn't believe how quick things book up.

Soon, mine took 17months of planning bc we wanted to save money for the wedding that we wanted. Our venue was booked with 16 months to go and most of August was already booked.

Im 9/22/18 and I have my venue/catering (same place), photo/video, dj, centerpieces, photobooth, linens, and bouquets booked. Didnt mean for it to all happen so quickly, but hey I'm a step ahead of the game (: if there's a specific vendor you want, book them ASAP, especially venue&catering

Mine is a week before yours and I started planning in June (a week after we got engaged). The venue I booked isn't well known and already had 4 weddings booked next summer. I also have my caterer and photographer booked Smiley smile

I'd actually say you're late if you haven't started now. As others have said, many venues (especially the good ones) book more than a year in advance. You don't have a date until you have your venue.

Start planning today, girlfriend!!! Venues sometimes book 2 years in advance! As do some vendors. Go ahead and set up a budget and a guest list, and go from there.

It's not too early. You are a little over a year, start planning now. Doesn't hurt to at least book venue, photographer, officiant and DJ etc.

My wedding is also September 2018 and I have almost everything completely booked and planned. Only thing left for me to pick is a florist. So, no, it's not too early. At the bare minimum you need to have a venue for ceremony and reception. Otherwise you don't even have a date. There was TONS of competition for the venues FH and I looked at - and we aren't even in a big city.

I think people who haven't planned a wedding or who planned a wedding ages ago don't understand how far ahead you have to start. I booked my venue in June for October 13 18 and there was one date left and the same day I booked another couple booked a different property of theirs.

My photographer only does I think 30 weddings a year so I booked her in June too.

In other words be calling and touring ASAP.
