It is not too early, that is a little over a year away and September is a very popular time of year to get married. Most vendors book up by then. Start your planning.

Who are these people that are telling you it's too early? Don't they realize it's already August? You have just over a year so start ASAP! Don't be surprised if your date/month is full at popular venues.

Sep 18 bride here also. We booked our venue early this year in Jan. We have the church, cake, plates and our save the dates made and ready to go. Starting next month in going to hit the ground running. I am making an appointment in October to say yes to my dress. It's true start now! If you have money for it now go ahead and book the big stuff. For example venue, church,dj and photographer. We are slowly paying off our venue. Hope we will be done with before the end of the year. That way next year there's more money for whatever is left.

My wedding date is the month after yours, October 2018, and I started planning a week after I got engaged, January 2018. Now, with 14 months out, I am 90% done and am as cool as a cucumber. I got all the vendors I wanted and locked in early 2017 rates for late 2018.

Definitely not too early! It's almost a year out. I booked my venue is January for a June 2018 wedding and there were already 3 Saturdays taken

Mine is in November 2018. My venue and photographer are booked. Dress is purchased. We are looking for an officiant, a DJ and my hair/mua. (My venue is mostly inclusive, so I don't need an outside caterer or bartender.)

    Get on that.

Ours is in Nov 2018, I have my venue (comes with cake and caterer), photographer, MUA, hairstylist, engagement photos, and dress. Spoke with videographers, DJ's, and transportation. I started shoe shopping and looking for decorations. Tried to do the church/officiant & hotel block but they said I had to wait for November.

Tell those people to shove it because a week after I got engaged last October, I stared calling venues for October and November of this year and every weekend was booked except for the place I'm having it who's only weekend left was the 18th lol my MUA had already started booking 2018 and the same for my photographer as well!

My wedding is on September 21, 2018 and I'm planning a DW in Jamaica. I am working with a travel agent to secure my venue now. I already have my dress, my wedding band, and a DJ. It's never too early.

I don't think it's ever too early lol. My fiance proposed to me early May '16 and we started looking at venues two weeks later. A couple of the venues mentioned they were already booked all summer '17! Fortunately I didn't want a summer wedding and preferred fall, so they had plenty of openings for us to choose practically any fall date we wanted.

Start now. It's not that far away. Any preferred vendors may be booked. We started planning and booking vendors for our 6/18 wedding in 3/16!

Honestly I got engaged in February of 2017, and I started planning for my wedding in may of 2018 shortly after maybe 2 weeks after I got engaged. You can never be to prepared! We have everything paid off already and we can just go with the flow and relax now instead of panicking of not having enough money or time to pay something or plan Smiley smile

If you do NOTHING ELSE until January, book your venue. My date was pretty nonnegotiable to me and 16 months out when I started looking and 3 of 4 venues I contacted already had events booked that day.

Mine is August 2018, and I felt the same way you do but I know I'm a procrastinator so I thought it would be best to get things done now rather than be too stressed later. I have a venue, DJ, almost photographer, looking at caterers, guest list started, dress appointment Sept. 9th with my bridesmaids, and plenty of ideas.
