Best time in fall for a wedding??

HoneyImGallone, on October 10, 2016 at 4:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

So my FH and I want to have a fall wedding. I personally don't want it too close to Halloween; he thinks it would be awesome to have it near Halloween. I don't want it too late in fall because I don't want it to be too cold, but I also don't want it to be too early and it be too hot. His parents got married in late September, mine in late November. What do you think?? And it does not have to follow what my thoughts, I just want to know what you guys think and why because if your reason makes sense it could change my mind.

My wedding was previously set for September 30th, which I thought was acceptable for a fall wedding. But if you're wanting fall without interfering with Halloween or parents anniversaries, try beginning to middle of October.

I am doing early October because scientifically there is less chance of rain, and also the leaves are just gorgeous.

It depends where you live about the weather. If you are worried about it being too cold, look for an indoor venue or just look at the first/second week of October.

Depends where you are - in some areas Sept-Oct is blazing hot and Nov is perfect, in others Nov is practically winter already.

If you don't want it to be too cold and don't want it to be too hot, you need an October wedding. I would look at September 20th - October 17th. It won't be too close to Halloween, the leaves are perfect, it shouldn't be hot or cold (depending on what you consider cold).

I live by Philadelphia. And the venues I am looking at are all inside and 1 of them has an outside part.

Honestly, it depends on the summer. This past summer was hotter, so the leaves are changing earlier. Me and FH lucked out cause the foliage is going to look amazingggg this weekend! Late September is nice because it'll still be warm out. However, with living in Philly, seasons are unpredictable.

If you're looking at this fall, your choice may be dictated by what's available. Early to Mid Oct.

Not this fall. We want to wait until I am at least done with my bachelor's degree, which would be in 2018 or 2019. And then have some time to still save up a little more so 2020. I mean there is plenty of time for us to decide on a date or even decide to move the date up or back. I just know that I want a spring or fall wedding and my FH wants a fall wedding. I just thought people might have something to say that might help guide me in the right direction.

We set our date for Oct. 21st for same reasons, wanted a fall wedding not too close to Halloween, not too cold, but not uncomfortably hot either.

I chose October 15 for my wedding because I wanted it to be cooler outside...forecast shows 86 degrees...figures. Lol.

I was in a wedding this past weekend and it was all outside. It was 62 degrees on Sunday and probably 20 mph winds. It was cold as shit. No sides to the tents or heaters. Ladies wore leggings underneath their BM dresses. I would absolutely have a backup plan and properly host your guests. If it is outside, have heaters and make sure you inform your guests that it is outside. The bride didn't have a wedding website so a lot of ladies wore skimpy summer dresses when they should have been in scarfs and a jacket.

Well if your wanting to do fall for the colors of trees you'll need to look up the foilage calendar in your area. I wanted to go with a mid October wedding at first but then found out trees don't usually change colors until around the 25th so I moved it to the 27th. Yes it's close to Halloween but I wanted all the pretty pics of leaves!

It depends on what state you're located in. I'm in Ohio and we chose the second week in October because leaves are usually changing around then and the weather is usually decent. In Ohio though you can never be sure. We've had snow that second week in October so just be sure you choose a venue with atleast a backup plan

Ours was Sept 17 in New York, and the weather was so gorgeous it didn't even feel like fall. If you want a true fall vibe, I'd say early to mid October.

This week is the first time in months that the temp has not been over 90. I usually recommend mid-Oct. here (we got married 10/10 -- 29 years ago yesterday!).
