Best place to sell a wedding dress??

Morgan, on February 21, 2020 at 4:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

I purchased a dress that I cannot return or exchange, I recently found one that I absolutely fell in love with, so I bought it! Now I have this dress that's brand new, tags still on, and hanging in my closet. I posted it on Facebook marketplace, Poshmark and eBay, I've been getting nothing but scammers. Anyone know of the best place to sell a brand new wedding dress, and quickly??

I have my dress listed on stillwhite.com but it’s been three weeks and no bites. There’s also preowneddresses.com. I think that’s the address.

I did see that one, but you have to pay a fee before you can list it.

Yes scammers abound. I had one who said they wanted to pay with pay pal, but asked for my pay pal email rather than just clicking buy it now.

That scam is, they generate an official looking fake email, which looks like money has been deposited, but it hasn’t, they’re hoping you won’t check your actual account.
Also they sometimes want to pay via cashiers check, which are very easy to forge.
Anyway, I hope yours sells quick. I sold mine on Poshmark, less than my asking, but I was ready to part ways with it. And it took awhile, more than a month. I see plenty of dresses that sit for far longer. In any case good luck.
PS- maybe look for a local consignment shop?

How much do you have it listed for vs how much you paid for it? I’ve noticed from some of those sites that most only sell when they’re marked down significantly.

Yes, I had three asking for my paypal address and my mobile phone number. I said, this does not sound legit, and declined their offer. I then reported them to eBay. Hopefully mine will sell soon and for close to what I paid for it. It's a brand new dress, so I don't want to lose out on too much money. We live in sort of a rural area so there isn't much to choose from, when it comes to consignment shops.

For me was the other way around. When i was purchasing a dress from stillwhite, they wanted me to send it to their email. Supposedly it was cheaper. I said no and she said fine. But I should've know she was all bad. That wasn't the only time she gave me trouble. As long as I got my dress, but i wouldn't have gotten it from her at all .

I've had my dress on stillwhite for 5 months now. Just a couple of watches but no one has emailed me about it. I really want to sell it before my wedding but it looks like that might not happen.
