Best place to register for towels

MNBride, on September 5, 2016 at 10:10 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

I know there was a thread about sheets a few weeks ago. Where did you register for towels? Any specific brand at that store? Who even knows how to pick out good towels.

I would just go around to stores and feel them, that's literally what FH and I do. Macy's usually has nice ones.

We got some towels at Macys and I hate them lol you have to go around and feel but super soft ones arent always better. Sigh, at least they match our bathroom.

Make sure you unfold them and check the size. My sister has those super small ones. I like the ones that are smaller than a bath sheet, but bigger than the smaller ones.

We registered for some at BB&B, but I have bought towels from Target, Macy's, & Penney's in the past.

We love the hotel collection from Macy's. They are on sale all the time, too! They are so soft and luxurious. Now when I feel my old girls they feel so rough compared to these!

Kimi that's a good tip. Last time I bought towels for our apartment I accidentally got two big ones and two small ones and didn't realize they were different sizes until like a month later. The big ones are definitely better, neither FH or I are small people.

We got some really soft towels at target 2 years ago but they didn't last very well...can anyone speak to durability? How long so good towels last?

I like Target towels! They come in lots of colors but the biggest thing is that my skin/face products do NOT fade them. They aren't as high quality/cushiness as some others places but the first time I used the more expensive towels they were bleached out by my face products and ruined them.

Annakay that's a good point too! I towels I had in college (probably from Walmart) got bleached by my face stuff. Currently I have dark brown ones from target and I haven't had a problem.

I got mine from Pottery Barn. Microcotton quick drying. I did a lot of research and they are the best rated towels on a lot of different sites. I got two sets and we totally love them. Super thick, super soft, and they are quick drying. They feel totally luxurious. My husband loves them so much and he is the most picky person I've ever met.

ETA: change FH to husband. That's going to take some getting used to. lol

I'll admit it, I'm a linens snob. I had a set of Christy bath sheets that lasted about ten years before showing signs of wear, so we registered for a new set. They're huge, luxurious, absorbent and extremely well made.

Go to macys and bed bath and beyond and feel them yourselves. FH loved a brand from Macys while I loves one from BBB.
